I usually don't post things that aren't of any use...

...but I really cannot believe the sheer enormity of this problem. My God.

This may have already been posted, but if I were you and you know you have this recalled food, keep the packaging if you still have it. This will help your vet determine that you did, indeed, eat the food, there will probably be some kind of compensation from the company, and if your pet does have serious complications, it will help you prove that it was caused by the food.

When the peanut butter was recalled recently, they reimbursed people the money. It was only like $3 but most people I know just threw their jars away.

I don't have the packaging still but i have the vet bills , cremation cost reciepts. I know what happened, and even have a video of her walking and doing better , then when i fed her the food again she became so ill i could not let her go on. It was a horrible experience. My fiance and i even talked about what a shock when she was acting so much better then after eating she became so ill it was like she was poisoned. That was before we knew about the food recall. I am sick over it. Nothing they could give me would replace her or the last hours of her life being so bad and us having to witness that.

This is a Sad Scary situation.
Menu Foods Knew a month ago there was a problem. and they did not recall the products or issue a warning?
We had a Litter of AKC registered Great Dane Puppies. they are now adopted and in forever homes. The people live in remote areas of the country and did not have a source to buy EaglePac kibble. we researched and recommended Nutro Natural Choice large breed puppy Kibble & wet canned food.We have 10 puppies now going to the vet because of their negligence to notify the public.

I remember when Diamond pet Foods had a simular situation. they did not compensate or reimburse pet owners for vet costs or loss of their pets. the problem with their food was contaminated corn.

We wanted to convey Condolences and Prayers to those affected by the menufoods recall.
Thank you to everyone posting the updates and information.

Lucy, you are correct about the Dec. time frame...The news I posted was before that news came out which was later then the reports I'd seen....& I think it very very important that people understand that the animals that Menu Foods claimed died were THEIR test animals!

I just found out some disturbing news from a lady at the FDA. They called me back and said that Angel was among over a thousand dogs and cats. They said they are taking it very serious and took a full report, they said her symptoms are what many other pets suffered with. over 1000 can you believe it, i am shocked! The 10 that are reported were lab animals, 10 out of their 60 died. So the media doesn't even have the full news of this.

I usually feed my dog eukanuba dry food. Since all of this I have vowed Never to buy any of their (or others on the list) products again and urge everyone to do this. I returned to a brand i used as a puppy (BILJAC) they make and distribute their own. We can only fight back with our dollars. If companies want our money they better start being more responsible in who they hire to outsource. Anyway Im scared b/c i fed my dog like a month ago a half a can of eukanuba (as a treat), i dont have the can and he did have some dirareeha for day or two but sometimes that happens when he gets wet food. Should i be worried, hes totally fine and never was lethargic or didnt want to eat. I feel like there are still so many unanswered questions. my sympathies to all of the dogs/cats effected.
