I eat Iams Adult Small and Toy Formula and Purina Kibbles and Chunks. And for the really smart pooches out there, is there any nutritional value in these foods?

IT all depends on who you ask and your dog. I feed diamond Naturals and I get free dads dog food for my shepards So yeah I Feed dads is it good no actually its the worst out there so I mix it with canidea soft food and chicken broth. I feed my small dogs diamond naturals and i am now trying canidea soft food i just found complete petmart near me so i can get the other foods. Kibbles and chunks isnt a very good food i mean if you can get diamond nautrals for me and the price its a really good food. My dogs are very very shiny at a very good weight my mom feeds hers kibbles select literally the only thing her dogs will eat they are shiny and healthy as well. it all depends on the person literally. dont let food snobs scare you or make you feel bad iams isnt the best food and very over priced for the ingrdients diamond is alot cheaper and there are lots of other better foods alot cheaper just find what works for you and your budget plain and simple.

I'm eating Lassie's Natural Way for now. I used to eat Alpo until Mom convinced Grandmaw & Grandpaw to pay a little extra and hopefully cut back on my itchiness! I do hope to switch to Innova, or maybe California Natural, or even Solid Gold or Wellness at some point in the near future. Premium foods just aren't available where I live though so Mom will have to order my food.

Iams and Purina... Both are pretty yucky foods... take a look at the ingridients, do you see corn, wheat, or soy? If you do it's not worth feeding.

I feed RAW/BARF to most of my dogs, the ones that I do not eat FROMM kibble.

I would ditch the Purina....Iams small & toy is OK, but not the best. Do you have access to a Petsmart or Petco? You can find some higher quality foods there (in addition to privately owned stores for the super-premium foods). At Petsmart you can find Royal Canin, Blue Buffalo, Bil-Jac....at Petco you can find Solid Gold (at some), Natural Balance, Sensible Choice, Castor & Pollux, Royal Canin, Nutro Ultra, and Bil-Jac. All of these are foods that are much higher quality than Iams or Purina smile I do disagree though about avoiding corn, wheat or soy unless your dog is allergic to them....

We eat Bil-Jac dry here with California Natural lamb & rice canned.

The other "super premium" foods that you may be interested in:

Innova, EVO, California Natural (www.naturapet.com)
Nature's Variety (www.naturesvariety.com)
Solid Gold (www.solidgoldhealth.com)
Eagle Pack Holistic (www.eaglepack.com)

...just to name a few. You can go to these sites and they will have store locaters on them smile

Lassie natural way baby!!! Corn isn't good for my 'momma' dog Tessa, if she eats corn she itches her self till she bleeds. We were eating Nutro Natural choice (chicken or lamb) but Tessa was alittle itchy and I had hives. My human started feeding me, Tessa, and Sally Lassie Natural Way and now Tessa dosen't itch, I don't have hives, Sally is happier and our coats are allot better! Even though the price tag on a bag of something with corn is lower, you pay for it is the long run. You have to eat more of it, you poop more, your coat isn't as pretty as it could be. At the shelter I was being fed 3 cups of purina dog chow, now I only need to eat 1 1/2 cups Lassie!!

I am eating Diamond Naturals Beef and Rice and am doing very well on it. My owner was feeding me Natural Balance which might be a little better for me, but cost twice as much. My owner did some research and found that the Diamond Naturals line has no corn, wheat, soy, or by-product. I eat the same amount as the natural balance and actually have fewer and firmer poo's.
