After discovering that Menu Foods makes canned foods for Wellness, my pet quickly switched me over to Orijen. It's a grain-free high-protein food that's made by the company (Champion Pet Foods) in Alberta. Although it's very healthy, I can't help myself - I just LOVE it!!! Okay so fine, I will wolf down anything, but I definitely prefer this to Wellness-my pet has to keep reminding me to watch her fingers when she feeds me. I'm really pleased that it's a Canadian-made product too. Parting note - the protein content is much higher in Orijen (40%) than in Wellness Chicken Super5Mix (22%)....yay!!

Hey Penny it is in other stores, not only Petland...my bi-ped has stopped shopping there too (bad place), but just go on the site and there is a Store Locator...
I m on the transfer right now, it rocks cheer
My bi-ped gets it in a small pet supply store in Crossfield 'Critters' , I think that they may even have the buy so many and then get 1 free cards. not sure though.
Hopefully that helps and u can try it too!

Hey everybody, I actually had the chance to talk to a sales representative for Orijen and from that I concluded that this is the best food I’ve ever come accross. My dog who has almost every allergy imaginable has been doing great on this food. He has a nice, full, beautiful coat, all of his rashes have gone away and I haven't seen him itching at all lately. While Orijen is somewhat difficult to find, I discovered westernfeedonline.com that sells it. My experience with them has been great, the food is usually shipped the same day I order and it arrives in perfect condition.

www.westernfeedonline.com Hope this helps!!!

Hi Rocky,

Do you know what you were allergic to? I have a boy that might be allergic to chicken, but we don't know for sure. We would love to try him on Orijen.

Thanks!

Ohh yay another Orijen feeder! Me and my kitty brothers love it! We lick the bowls clean!
I also believe its the kibble form of raw =p Raw feeders may disagree but I do not! Its all fresh that goes in it and all natural with no grains and no preservetives, Just like raw lol!

Hey Luc, I'm not sure if it was the chicken i'm allergic to, but I did have problems with every other food I tired. If you think you are definitely allergic to chicken, Westernfeedonline.com said that they should have it in about a month. I guess that is Orijen's newest food and shipping over the border from Canada causes all kinds of headaches. None of the other stores I talked to had it either and nobody gave me an estimate of when they'll have it. You really might want to try the Orijen adult though. You can get a trial sized bag for cheap or even the 5.5 lb bag that isn't very expensive either. Well, good luck hope I helped! dog

orijen is the best food for my dog. i got her from the rescue and noone really cared strongly for her diet before. when I got her she was licking her paws, her skin was dry red and flaky. I did a lot of research on foods and ingredients and stopped at orijen. another good option is dick van patten's natural diet? they have a lot of varieties to choose from. not long ago I found out that Bagira is allergic to chicken and turkey. funny thing is that although origen has some of these ingredients there is no allergic reaction att all!!! I also know other dogs whose allergies stopped with origen
innova evo
i use their no grain canned food but i am still not sure if it is completely right for my dog. since i started innova I am seeing signs of allergy again from time to time. I switched to their chicken and turkey cans as less allergic option and her allergy blossomed right away, after that and carefull analysis af all her food related symptoms from the past, i understood that the allergens are chicken and turkey. before that when she had some symptoms i was feeding her different kind of cans also innova but they had little bit of chicken and turkey as well that is why symptoms were mild.
after the reaction on turkey and chicken innova I fed her just orijen for a week, all the symptons were gone completely. now I am adding inniva venison canned food and want to try rabbit and beef, and lamb if innova makes it.
no doubt, I can feed her orijen dry food only but i do not consider it right. a dog needs variety too and something more exciting and delicious than just dry food. so i will continue trying innova and will continue looking until I find something which works as well as orijen but in cans or maybe raw. origen manufacturers promised to start their own line of canned food in several years, maybe this will be the perfect option.

My dog has been doing great on Orijen and I have been ordering it in small bags and in sample sizes in case she had a stomach upset of some kind. I am planning on ordering a large bag next, but was examining my small bags and can't seem to find the expiration date on them. Can anyone tell me exactly where on the bag this would be?confused

Bella's boyfriend, a Japanese Chin is on Orijen. I read the bag carefully, and it seems to have even better ingredients than a lot of the top brands--Innova Evo, Canidae, Solid Gold, or Nature's Variety.

I've never seen a more luxurious, glistening coat! He also has smaller poops than Bella, and they weigh nearly the same.
