I was wondering who you were talking to also, Sir Frankie never acted like he knew it all, he just asked if anyone had heard anything. And well I haven't seen anyone on here that acted like they knew it all except you Chaz.

Well Chaz then that doesn't make sense because Sir Frankie was the one that asked for advice. Who else asked for advice and then said they knew it all?

I am not acting like I know everything. I was just being helpful to a dog that asked a question. Why are you guys jumping down my throat?

I guess for me is when people state things as fact like they know everything, Instead of saying, "this is what I have read" or "this is what I heard" or "THIS IS my opinion" In my opinion if someone is going to state something as if they are stating a fact they should have support to back it up.

Well I certainly am not trying to come off like I know everything. I was trying to be helpful because I truly care about dogs, that's all. I have spent countless hours researching what is best for my dog and I like to share what I have learned with others.

Sir Frankie - You are adorable! What food did your pet store lady recommend in place of Science Diet?

A website I really like that helped me decide on a food was the Dog Food Project Their subtopic - Ingredients to Avoid - was especially helpful to me. I kind of went through the food I was feeding to see which of those ingredients were in my food. If there was one or two mediocre ingredients in it, I didn't really mind, but one of the foods I was feeding was full of these things on the list, and that bothered me.

I also read a couple of books that I checked out from the library that helped me learn more about ingredient. Then my Dogster pals helped me by giving me some recommendations.

It all depends on what Science Diet food you are eating whether how bad or good it is. I personally like the Nature's Best Line of Science Diet better than some of the other ones. Also, some dogs have used the prescription diets and that seems to be the only thing that have helped them.

Hi all. I don't think Science Diet is horrible, but there are better. When I was deciding on what to feed Mandy, I did some research. I guess the first 5 or so ingredients are important and should not start with any corn product. Mandy started out on Purina ONE Lamb and Rice which is not the best either but seemed healthy enough with no problems. Purina does make some crappy foods, but this one was OK. But, I decided to spend a little more and make sure she was getting one of the best. I feed her Merrick brand, either Grammy's Pot Pie or Cowboy Cookout. She loves it. Its also very healthy!! Here is a ingredient spreadsheet I found online and used for almost any dog food u can imagine from A to Z.....
