Hello! We are in a bit of a crisis here. A family Pitbull has landed in a high-kill shelter in Naples, Florida and has family that loves him here in Jackson, MI. He has a home with family here, but we must get him up here. Are there any truckers or traveling folks that go down that way and back? Even if we can get him closer, we may be able to work out the rest of the way home. This is a very good dog and doesn't deserve this. He's only 3 years old. PLEASE if anyone can help, email me at SaveRPawedFwends@aol.com, or call/text 517-416-8640. Thank you!! Katherine & Deisel

Honestly, if it's a high kill shelter, you need to worry about pulling the dog first, and then arrange transport. Has he been pulled? You'll need someone local to get on that fast.

You might not get anyone to do the whole trip. Sometimes breaking it down into logical chunks and then posting with the legs that need to be filled will help. You could also look in to organizations that ship/transport dogs if you can afford it.

If you're going up the coast, I can do a leg through southern New England. Good luck!

I wrote to Ms Katherine, the person asking for help.

She sent me a note saying thank you and informing me that he had been adopted. Hopefully he has a good home.

Bad news, Diesel is back in the shelter, they need to get him out right away, he is at risk of being put down in the morning.cry

I can take a leg of the trip if they come through Mobile area, but I have never arranged a transport. If someone can help Katherine get this thing moving please contact her. (Contact info is in the 1st post)

UPDATE!! Thank you everyone so much for caring about Deisel! Last I heard last night he is being pulled this morning and boarded, but only for a few days. Our first thing to do is find someone who can get him the first leg of his journey, out of Florida. I am willing to pick him up in Ohio, Illinois or someplace closer to Michigan if I need to. If anyone can help with this, please email me at SaveRPawedFwends@aol.com or call 517-416-8640. I will be searching transport sites...thank you! Katherine #BringDeiselHome blue dog

It's great that he's been pulled! I've emailed you at that aol address. I'm in CT, so I can help drive once you get further north, unless you're going farther inland.

I've volunteered to drive for transports and rescues in the past, so I'm trying to gather some contacts that may help through the South and I'll email them to you.

Keep us posted, and good luck!

I can see what I can do too...I work in the transport industry...I can check to see if any of our guys are in the FL area coming back to Canada...they won't go through MI to come back into Toronto, but I'm sure someone will stop along the way...

Where in Florida is he?

Would he be comfortable with a driver picking him up? Is he comfortable with people?

Have you tried www.uship.com
I'm trying that now and I also have a dog in Florida I would like transported to Battle Creek, MI. The dog I want is in Port Saint Lucie. Where abouts in Florida is your pet? Maybe we could work together on this!!

Contact me if you like at wyldestylez@yahoo.com
