The last four days have been some of the most stressful I've ever had. My sweet, 10 week old puppy seemed a little sick on Thursday morning. By noon, he was at the animal hospital. 24 hours later, he could barely lift his head. We were literally sobbing on the floor of the exam room with an almost lifeless Baxter between us.
Our wonderful vet referred us to an amazing critical care animal hospital in a nearby city and we raced there on Friday night to get Baxter into life saving surgery.
By Sunday, a groggy, but healthy Baxter was in my arms! It was quite a roller coaster...one that I chronicled on Baxter's journal.
There's only one group on Dogster that seems to be about dogs going through surgery. I know there are more people out there facing this and I hope my diary helps them see the light at the end of the tunnel.
