Just checking on all you pups in the storm hit areas of Florida . How are you all doing? Hope you are all keeping dry and safe. Mums friend flew out there last sat for a holiday, not too sure how she is doing. Anyway dogsters let me know how you have been affected . Thinking of you dog

Hey, we live in north florida and Fay wasnt all that bad up here. We have a couple of downed trees nad a lot of limbs in the yard. Max actually stayed on the porch and watched alot of it, he wasnt scared at all. Some dogs werent so lucky. I heard about this on the news

////Chained dogs rescued just in time
The residents of a home in the 5600 block of Potomac Avenue in North Jacksonville evacuated Thursday night. Before they left, they chained two dogs under the carport and left them in a spot that ultimately became flooded with several feet of water.
One of the dogs - a cocker spaniel - survived only because it was able to jump on a chair. The other dog - a Lab mix - stood for hours in water that, at times, reached its chest.
The two were saved by Jacksonville Animal Care and Control officers, who had to use a boat to reach them. Animal control officer Danita Thompson comforted the bigger dog as they were taken to safety.
"Dogs aren't stupid," she said. "This dog knows that we just saved his life."
Supervisor Robert Currey said both dogs probably would have died overnight from hypothermia if they hadn't been rescued. He said the agency will pursue charges against the owners for leaving the dogs.

Check out the Love of Dog Blog....the *&&%#$^% got the dogs BACK! According to the officials they didn't have any legal reason to keep him from taking the dogs back. They did ticket him for animal cruelty though - WHAT A JOKE!!!

Back on topic though...glad to hear that you are doing well!way to go

I live on the SW Coast of FL and Fay wasn't that bad here, either. Yesterday though, it was raining so bad out of nowhere and lightning and thundering too! I had to pee like crazy so I accidentally went on the carpet! red face But my mom took me out and forced me to stay outside cuz she knew I had to do number 2! Hehe. So I went and ran back in! I'm not afraid of thunder or lightning so I'm doing pretty well! But now we're keeping a lookout for Gustav and Hanna! Yikes!

i cant believe they got the dogs backshock

Now all we have to look out for is Gustav, Hanna and the other 2 that are out there now too!!!! confused

I sure hope everyone in NO will be ok and that they have some appropiate places for people to go with thier pets this time. I dont think anyone could bear to look at the post katrina photos again!!! i still cry when i think about all those abandoned pets

I am glad you lot are okay but I am sorry for the two dogs left . Me If i cannot take my dog I dont go sorry but thats the way it is he is part of the family in fact he would go first because he is so helplessdog
