i've only traveled with my cat in cargo. she seemed to be fine though. however, i looked into flying with gibson and whether it's cargo or in cabin the prices are extremely high. like at least $100 one way! you have to pay that fee going there AND going back. plus there are breed restrictions regardless of airline of which dogs can go as cargo. i believe from may to september these breeds HAVE to go in the cabin, but they must fit underneath the seat in front of you. also when temperature are above 75 degrees they must also go in cabin. there are a lot of other restrictions so i would go to any airline website (i just went through delta) and they will give you a link for the FDA guidelines for pets. i think it also involves making sure the pet is healthy and having a vet certificate at least 10 days before departure. unfortunately, mommy is not made of money so gibson is staying home OR we're driving! smile
