How did you come up with your dogs name?

Scarlett In training to- be SDiT     Barked: Tue Jul 12, '11 12:45pm PST  Norma Jean was named after Marilyn Monroe, I had got her with my boyfriend at the time and he was a big celebrity buff so he wanted to name the dog after a celebrity, he wanted to name her Dolores. And I could NOT imagine Dolores as a name for a dog, I always liked Marilyn Monroe and suggested that, he decided Norma Jean which I guess is her real name, I liked the name so I agreed! Scarlett's full name is Scarlett Jo Hanson. Can you imagine who she's named after? I wanted to keep the tradition of naming my dogs after beautiful actress/celebrities and i always liked the name Scarlett, so it just seemed fitting. my posts | my page | msg me | my family's posts | gift me | become pals [notify]

Ava Super Friendly- Aviator     Barked: Tue Jul 12, '11 2:43pm PST  I had a big list of names I liked ready for when I adopted Ava, but none of them really seemed to fit her. It came down to Eve, or Ava, and BF not being a fan of Biblical names (at least not a name like Eve) opted for Ava. Nix was hard to name. I knew that if I was going to get another girl dog I would call her Rem. I love that name. I know it can be used for boys too, but I was pretty dead set on it being used for a girl, so I'm going to save it. Another name I liked was Rin (no, NOT like Rin Tin Tin! ) but somehow it didn't fit him from his pictures. I had pretty much decided on Reese, but then I thought of Nix and liked the way it sounded. I wrote down a few different spellings and asked BF to choose what he liked more.. Nyx, Niks, Nicks... Joey Diego - CGC, Therapy- Dog Where did mom- go?     Barked: Tue Jul 12, '11 9:30pm PST  Joey got his name because he is an "Australian Csttle Dog" and kangaroos live in Australia and he kinda looks like a baby kangaroo...thus Joey!! lol Layla is a lot less cool...we went through four different names. When we got her her name was Lilly, so we wanted to to start with the an L. My sister actually came up with the name. Buddy bouncy pup     Barked: Wed Jul 13, '11 6:19am PST  My son who was 15 at the time of getting a new puppy joked that budweiser king of beers was a good name. Zooey, CGC Everybody loves- Zooey     Barked: Wed Jul 13, '11 8:00am PST  Zooey is named after JD Salinger's "Frannie and Zooey". I adopted her shortly after his death, and had just reread the book. I've always LOVED the name, and I figured if Zooey Deschanel could get away with the male spelling of the name that my Zooey could, too my posts | my page | msg me | gift me | become pals [notify]

♥Buddy♥ I <3 MEAT!     Barked: Wed Jul 13, '11 9:13am PST  Well with Buddy that was his name when we got him and it just fit! He was our Bud! With Saleega, When our friend got him he had some spanish name(For an AK Husky?!) and she just kept it but he didn't respond to it at all. So when we got him we wanted to give him an Athabascan name, he is and Ak husky after all, and one of our friends had a dog named Saleega which means "My Dog" in Athabascan and we thought it fit him so that's what we named him! I love the names zoey or maggie. I want to get a border collie when our dogs get older.
