What do you guys think of puppia harnesses?

Foxxy Pocket Wolf     Barked: Thu May 5, '11 11:32pm PST  Plenty of people reccomend puppia because it's not supposed to push on a dog's throat, but I tried one on foxxy, and the edge of it bit in just as hard as a standard harness. I prefer the roman style y-front harnesses. The other problem was the fit on it, foxxy just doesn't fit into them. on one size the chest fit, but the neck was too tight, on the next size up, it's too long on the back and the chest is too loose, though the neck fit right. I also didn't like how the fabric pulled up when you attatch a leash to it. It looked like it would last a couple of months and then fall apart from the stress. I have sort of resigned myself to foxxy in a cat harness. Kitsune Divide and- cuddle!!     Barked: Fri May 6, '11 12:55pm PST  I guess it just depends on the individual dog and how they are built, because Kit's doesn't tug at his throat at all. The neck part rests down below his collar around his chest instead of his neck. Like I said I also found them to be really durable. I'll be honest, Kit can be a puller sometimes...but his harness never broke and the fabric has kept it's size (didn't stretch out) and that was with a lot of use. I dunno...I really like Puppia harnesses. We've been using his new Lupine roman harness now and it's okay. My fiance still uses the Puppia when he walks Kit because he finds it easier to put on. Paris support the- rabid     Barked: Thu May 19, '11 4:13pm PST  So, Paris got a new harness by Simply Dog and I thought I'd mention it here. It's a step in style vest harness. It velcros in the back by the shoulders, and there's also nylon straps at the shoulders that have a snap buckle and 2 D rings attached to it. It fits perfectly! No pulling on the neck problems, and no messing with trying to get her head through it. My velcro- girl!     Barked: Sat Jun 11, '11 12:49pm PST  I know this tread is a little older, but here are some harnesses I have used and recommend: Buddy Belts (my Cavs each have a red one) Scrappy Pet Harness (knock-off of Buddy Belt and way cheaper...my Cavs have this harness in pink) Doggie Design Ultra non-chocking harness (my Cavs have this harness in lots of colors, even the new floral!) EZYDOG harness (This harness is actually for Desi...just got it and I love it!) Sporn Simple Harness (This harness is for Desi, too. Really like it, but it's hard to find. Got mine from Drs. Foster & Smith) Lupine Roman Harness (The Cavs have these harness to match all their Lupine stuff) Lucy generally doesn't need a harness, but if she did, her and Desi wear the same size so I'd just use one of his. my posts | my page | msg me | my family's posts | gift me | become pals [notify]

Koa Leung 167076     Barked: Mon Jan 7, '13 11:14pm PST  We used Puppias (and Hip Doggie's, which are higher quality American versions of the puppia) for years. Always though, i would spend the extra money to have the D-ring pushed back and sewn in BEHIND the chest band because only then did it distribute the weight across the chest. (Even though I love the way these harnesses look and have bought many, it's quite atrocious that an inherently flawed product has been so successful) It slightly depends on the dog. My corgi mix (non-puller) has never shown signs that it chokes her, but my golden mix conveniently forgets to not pull sometimes and I've heard him cough against the neckline of his Hip Doggies. I just got Koa a buddy belt recently and its been transformative. they are worth the money. The "Natural" line (un dyed, no nylon thread) is cheaper at funnyfur.com. He likes it better. He pulls less. it is slowly but gradually breaking in to conform to his body. I'm ready to get Qaisuke one too. In the end, I really like having both options. The buddy belt is an infinitely superior product, but isn't "meant" for extended use in the water vs. the puppias/hip doggies hold up really well in the water they're like doggie bathing suits and they are lighter weight so I would probably take the puppia/hip doggies camping/backpacking instead of the buddy belt. my posts | my page | msg me | my family's posts | gift me | become pals [notify]

Nicky it's my party &- i'll cry if i- want to     Barked: Tue Jan 8, '13 4:56pm PST  I bought Lupine step-in style harness for both dogs and I LOVE them! Nick is a weird size (too big for small, too small for medium type of thing), so the strap that goes between his legs on roman harnesses is usually too big which allows him to wiggle his leg out of one hole.
