I would like to come up with a list of great books to read for newbie dog owners at a vet hospital.
I am looking for books that cover the basics of living with a dog (feeeding, grooming, positive training, healthcare ect) .
Recommendations would be greatly appreciated so that I can go read them and then come up with a list. (Cat suggetsions welcome, too)

Thank you so much!

Most of my dog books are behavior/training related and a few diet related so....

Training:

"The Power of Positive Training" by Pat Miller

"Before & After Getting Your Puppy" by Dr. Ian Dunbar

"The Culture Clash" by Jean Donaldson

"Canine Body Language" by Brenda Aloff (IMO this would be a great one for vet waiting rooms... since it's big picture book and explains the body language in each photo, so it's not really a deep immersive linear read)

"The Other End of the Leash" by Patricia McConnell

Diet:

"Work Wonders" by Tom Lonsdale

I have a bunch more but I tried to narrow it down to just a couple. smile
