Mom is a school media specialist so she reads a lot of books for children. She just finished a chapter book about a special pitbull. It is Dog Lost by Ingrid Lee. It reveals a positive aspect on negative attitudes towards the breed. Good read!

That's good to know!! I'll have to check it out.

Have you read Demo the Junkyard Dog? It's great for kids of all ages (not sure what the youngest age would be, though) and is also a positive story about pit bulls. big grin

No, but I'll check it out! Thanks! Another good children's book about dogs is called A Dog's Life" by Ann Martin. It is an autobiography of a stray. Very touching. Makes you really want to rescue.

Ooooh I have read that one. I LOVED it, totally cried at the end. I think she came out with a sequel that follows Bone, Squirrel's brother. I was helping a friend who is a media specialist at a high school sort through some new books and I think there was an advanced proof. I think it's called "Everything for a Dog".

I've read both, A Dog's Life and Dog Lost... Both are so sad at the end... I cried hehe. They were both really good, I want to read the one about Bone now hehe.

OK, I just finished reading the advanced proof of "Everything for a Dog", the story about Bone. It is just as good as the first! There's a twist about halfway through that I didn't see coming, and that's always fun. It's sad, too, but I didn't bawl like I did for "A Dog's Life", just teared up a little. But yeah, put that one on your reading lists!!

Hmm...I wonder if it is the same Ann Martin who wrote "Food Pets Die For?" Now I gotta go and look it up!
