	Discovery is airing a new TV show similar to deadliest catch, about the 2008 Iditarod! First episode is October 14th! I cannot wait...it looks like it is going to be great! ETA: discovery.com/iditarod is the official website! Edited by author Sat Sep 20, '08 11:16pm PST

	There was one dog who was seriously injured by a snow machine in Lance Mackey's team, but he has recovered and is doing great

Kristari's September Calypso

Calypso has- landed!

	Lance Mackey's team was hit during the All Alaska Sweepstakes, not the Iditarod. The dog, Zorro, is doing well according to the Comeback Kennels website. The dog that was killed by a snowmobile in the Iditarod was Lorne, who was owned by Blake and Jen Freking. Very sad. Blake and Jen really miss her and they speak of her often. I never met Lorne but I have been fortunate enough to work with her mother and half sister, who are running on the 5-dog team Calypso is also a part of. Blake and Jen are not the main mushers featured in the TV program but there is a very short clip of their teams in the trailer.

	There is a free preview of the first episode at West High in Anchorage tonight, and I get to go cause today is my birthday and I shamed my mom into taking me...I cannot wait!

	It is amazing! It really embodies the race, and the mushers connection with the dogs...everything! They were off on at least one fact, but oh well, they had to have at least one mistake Yay for Discovery Channel!
