"Well Lucy considering you and your family buy your dogs from puppymills i'm sure PETA doesn't care for you too much either. FYI-You're fooling yourself if you don't think where you bought your dog from is a puppymill. Maybe i'm wrong but how about checking out lancasterpuppies.com, and others giving their thoughts on the place. Also, I know a lot of PETA members and supporters and guess what? they have dogs, they didn't kill them! Have any of you taken a look at the livestock farms from where you get your meat from? I suggest you do and afterwards if you don't think what PETA does is important by bringing these issues to light then i don't know what to say. Well i do but i won't. How about testing on animals? How did you hear about that? Or are you guys cool with that too? Making dog fighting a federal crime, guess who helped put that into action, in case you don't know, HSUS and PETA. What has the sporting dog alliance done lately, given you the right to crop your dogs tail?"
I wrote Lucy's old story a long time ago when I was convinced that breeders were breeders. Since then I have learned about bad breeders and good breeders. Lucy is not from a puppymil just a byb; not as bad but still bad. I do know about where my meat comes from thanks; do I think it's humane no? But where else am I going to get my food? I have no other choice; I'm not going vegitarian because I love meat. Sure they have dogs; but did you know they are working against dog ownership? Do you also know that when they "rescue" dogs that most of those dogs are cramned into metal boxes with each other and put to sleep a very inhumane way? Did you know that PETA has gone to dog shows and let dogs out of their pens where they run around loose recklessly? Did you also know that some dogs who love doing what they do were hit by a car because of PETA letting them out? Yes PETA has done some good things but they have also done some horrible things and I don't support them. I am not totally against them and don't wish they'd all die but I'm not one to support them. Also just so you know Lucy's tail isn't docked and that I only support docking for working dogs. It doesn't matter though if I have a right; I'm not a breeder. I am so sorry I have different views and beliefs than you.

No need to apologize Lucy, that's what forums are for, to discuss, sometimes a little heated. I may not ever agree, but i never take it personally. Its a big country out there and we are a diverse nation with different life styles, views & opinions. If not for sites/forums, such as this, none of us would know and learn others perspectives, and i think we can all agree that ignorance is never a good thing. On that note...

Hunting dogs' tails are docked for a reason: hunting dogs work in areas thick in brambles and heavy vegetation where the dog's tail can GET CAUGHT and CAUSE INJURY to the dog. Same reason their dewclaws are removed.
