Ok, maybe I have been in the dark..... but that list is the most RIDICULOUS thing I have read in years!!

My jaw is still on the floor! Mira (a Siberian Husky, or AKA Satan in a dog suit) is one of the most gentle/chicken dogs I have ever met! BOL
She may be a big girl...but that doesn't make her mean. Heck, I am personally more concerned about some of the smaller breads that think they are big dogs! BOL!
Goodness any dog in the right circumstances is capable of bitting. But, that doesn't make them 'killers', bad dogs or viscous. shrug
This list makes as much sense to me as a list would that banned children with certain behavior problems...... eek

It is apparent that are elected officials don't have anything better to do.

That's very sad. I will never live in a place that discriminates against my dogs. We tell people not to be racist to humans, but to dogs it's okay? That will never make any sense to me, people need to get to know each individual dog before they judge them, because every dog is different. My pit mix is totally different than the next....get educated people, discrimination is wrong!!!thinking

This is so stupid! I think we met one of the idiots that help put this list together yesterday during our outing at the Dog Beach. As my big goofy guy approached their Yorkies these people drug them off their feet and picked them up telling me that "Dogs like mine need to be destoyed". I told them that No it is the ignorant morons such as them that need to be destoyed! I'm still so upset about this.

Colorado has a state level laws prohibiting local municipalities from passing BSL see http://www.understand-a-bull.com/BSL/Locations/USLocations.htm
Yet Denver is listed as one of the top 10 least dog friendly places in the United States, having broadly worded breed specific dog laws allowing for confiscation, and destruction of dogs by breed, the Pittie. I'm no lawer, but talk about confusion. cry I'll never go to Denver again.

Actually, Kracker the state level of the law that prevents individual cities from passing BSL was revised by the Supreme Court and now reads as:
Municipality may adopt any rule or law for the control of dangerous dogs though it may not regulate dangerous dogs in a manner that is specific to breed. However, pursuant to a state Supreme Court decision, municipalities with home rule can adopt breed-specific measures.

Denver has been sued, and continues to get sued over their ordinance but always end up winning! I need an emotiocon with steam rolling out from the ears!!!!

How did this all happen? When did humans forget about us being best friends and all?

Rrrrribbing aside:

what can humans do to start to turn this around? Being at the mercy of someones opinion like that is pretty ugly...

it's kind of like how, back in the day, they banned a whole lot of TV shows because folks forgot about the freedom to JUST CHANGE THE CHANNEL!

My mom says:

"Who can I write to to start to protest this - does anybody know?

Because if it NOT protested, it'll all begin to be the rule by default - and I, for one, would rather make the anti-doggy folks "change the channel" instead of "ban the show" - and force ME to end up "Graceless" and choiceless".
