Sigh. PETA could actually do some good if the people working there actually followed their own acronym: People for the ETHICAL TREATMENT of Animals.

I guess in their warped minds, killing dogs and cats and dumping their lifeless bodies in trash cans is ethical.

And the thing about Happy; that is just disgusting. Poor doggie. Poor owner. PETA is nothing but a bunch of liars. Evil liars. I am ashamed that my Mom once supported them before she realized what they were all about: getting attention for themselves at the expense of innocent animals' lives.

My mom used to be a rep for an organization that found homes for Premarin foals born in Canada... (for those that don't know, menopause medication called premarin is made from the urine of pregnant mares, resulting in about 30,000 foals every year in North America... it's gone way down in recent years, but still... anyway) we spent a lot of time fighting against the lies that PETA would spread about the farmers and their care of the horses... most of the information on their website is a GROSS exageration of what actually goes on... I'm sure there are some bad farms out there, like anything, but none of the ones we dealt with were anything like what PETA claims...

it makes it really hard to believe anything they say....
