Shar pei skin problem

This forum is for dog lovers seeking everyday advice and suggestions on health-related issues. Remember, however, that advice on a public forum simply can't be a substitute for proper medical attention. Only your vet can say assuredly what is best for your dog.

My shar pei is chewing and scratching all of his back end. His skin resembles something like water blisters so when he chews it becomes sticky, it then hardens which he scratches and opens it again. He normal does this around November - December time. But now it's getting worse. No advice or help from the vets because they have no idea what to do. Help please

Look up Cutaneous mucinosis. If that is what this is then it is something to do with the reason shar peis have wrinkled skin.

Yeah looked at photos on google and he has cutaneous mucinosis. Is there any way to cure this or at least stop him from ripping it open?
