Glad to hear Koko is coming home to be by your side. It won't bring her back, but I hope it gives you some peace and comfort. She was a very beautiful girl and I think we all have on that for whatever reason is extra-special. Take Care and know that we are here. God Bless.

It's going to be an extra hard day for you, but I know you are looking down on your mom with a gentle paw on her shoulder. The good times, the fun...let those memories fill you. Sending you lots of hugs....

I've picked up Koko's ashes and she is now home with me. I feel very sad to think of her like that but I must and will remember the good times we had together.

Thank you each and everyone of you for your love, support, help and best wishes. I send my love to you all.

Fi, I am so very sorry for your loss. It just tears us up when we lose our best fur-friends, they are such an enormous blessing to us, they love us regardless, they calm us when we are upset, they seem to laugh with us when we laugh, they listen to us no matter what silly thing we are talking about and they seem excited to hear it, they do not judge us on how we sing in the car, how our hair looks in the morning, they eat just about anything we will "create" and rave about how they want more. Geez, I could go on and on and never cover all the ways our dogs love and bless us but you already know.
We have a beautiful corner in our yard with special trees and peaceful windchimes where Gunner and Kayak's ashes are, they loved it out there in the summer just relaxing in the shade, it seemed only right that they would be there to rest. Now I look out there and see the trees, flowers and chimes and think of them and smile, I hear the chimes and know they have their wings.
It took forever for me to smile, I still cry, we lost Gunner 2 yrs ago tomorrow and Kayak 6 months ago. I am blessed to have wonderful friends who also adore their pups so they understand the sadness.
Let yourself feel everything, enjoy your memories, look to the stars at night and know there is a beautiful new shiny star in the sky shining for your pup, you will see it, I know.
I bet your pup has some pretty amazing wings, full of Rhodesian flair especially sporting that fabulous ridge on her back. Wings and a ridge, how beautiful.
Thank yor for loving your pup so much, it is the best thing ever.

Kayak,
I loved your post. I am just as passionate about the furkids. We had a beautiful Cherry Tree planted in the backyard of the house we lived in before this. My daughter has the house now but under that tree was a favorite resting place for all of our dogs.A few other pets made their final resting place there as well. The last to rest there was my Mattie. A year after Mattie went to rest there, while my daughter wasn't home,my son-in-law cut the tree down. In spite of him, that tree is coming back. I feel it is our pets way of letting us know that life will go on and our love for them is not forgotten.

Fi,
Take your time mourning her but go find yourself a dose of puppy breath. Even though you may not be ready to move on,and I know at that stage I wasn't. The warm happy cuddles and a bit of puppy breath was quite comforting and refreshing. It helped comfort me and remind me that life can and does go on. Koko's crossing was not the end of everything just the opportunity for a new beginning. She is securely in your heart and well forever remain there. She is across the bridge going on about living a new existence and awaiting your time to join her. She would not want you sad and lonely. When you are ready she will send you a sign that she has found a companion for you to ease your pain,it never hurts to inhale puppy breath to give yourself a boost when you need it though. Take Care my friend,
Pam
