I think my dog has hearing problems

My dog wont come to us or even look at us unless we say his name very loudly....He is young so I am hopeing it is just a faze maybe a training problem What are some of the signs of hearing loss? I cant get him to the vet for 4 weeks and I am a little worried
please let me know what you think

Goobur you are such a pretty pup. Do not despair even if he has hearing problems you can sign and he will feel vibrations too. Danes can be stubborn too and so it possibly is not deafness. Good luck to you dog

Until you can see a vet, try clapping, banging pot lids, etc. to see if he responds. If he doesn't, try stomping on the floor as the other poster said, so that he can feel the vibrations. Just keep him on a leash until you can see the vet.

Don't worry, he could well still hear. smile If he is deaf, he is perfectly trainable with hand signals. I trained a bilaterally deaf dog with hand signals when I was young, so it is not that difficult -- it just takes some patience.

I agree with the above posters it could be that he is just a little stubborn, but definatly take him to the vet. If he is deaf all hope is not lost, he is still trainable & can still be an amazing dog.
