That's good. It's probably not as good tasting as Mom's milk and the dropper is a poor replacement for her as well and that's why he isn't very enthusiastic about it. But, he will get used to it if you are persistant. The tube feeding sounds like a great option if you continue to have problems though.

You sure look like such a handsome pup! Thanks for the pictures! I needed a puppy fix! BOL!wishes

Okay sd I am try to feed with the bottle and when thats not working I switch to syringe and he is just a lil stinker he just refuses so now I am really monitoring his drinking with momma and today for the first time we have not had milk coming out of the mouth but I did take him back to the vet's Sunday evening I was just so worried and this time it was a different vet he checked his throat and checked for a cleft pallet and then he told me that he really thinks the problem is he was over eating and he thought that up because he saud that he is pretty chubby for his age and breed he wanted to know if he was the biggest one and actually he is the 3rd biggest my 2 lil girls are the bigger ones but for now I am relieved a lil but now im just trying to figure out how to monitor the feeding's and also if he is getting enough it would be much easier to bottle if he would take it cuz then I could monitor his intake but I do hate to take him from mommy and it is kinda hard when I am at work and I would take him with me cuz I do only work about 4 hours but I work at a dog daycare/kennel and he is way to young to exspose him to that enviroment, this morning I was so scared his temp dropped all of the way down to 94.7which is close to hypothrmia but I was able to bring it up their second to third week they should have a temp of 98 to 100 none of the 4 are at 100 yet they are all at about 98.5 to 99.2 - he opened his eye's Sunday gosh he is so handsome I just pray he out grows thiswishes

cheer That is fantastic news! So the vet said the pneumonia is all cleared up, right? Overeating can be dealt with. Peanut sounds like he has a strong will to live and that is always the best thing. Sounds like a real fighter. You might have to rename him Rocky Balboa or something! Glad to hear you are doing better. Mom's milk is better for him, anyways, because that is where he'll be getting the antibodies that he needs to protect himself until he is old enough to get his own vaccinations. Good job on monitoring the temperature. Usually close contact with the mother will take care of that, but obviously with him there are some other reasons for concern that have to be addressed resulting in time away. Just make sure you keep him close to your own body and wrapped up pretty well when he's away from mom. That should help keep his temp up.

Overall, though, Fantastic News! Keep up the good work! blue dogway to gohamster dance

Thank's so much much Max for sharing your concern's and advice I really appreciate it, as for the pneumonia it is still their you can hear it in his lungs but they do sound much better I will start carrying him around with me that would prob. help out and make it better for the other pup's because they dont look it being to warm they get really fussy and momma does'nt like staying with them as much because she does get a little warm and you know pom's they do have alot of fur, his temp might have to do with his pneumonia possibly but he has already been on antibiotics for a week and I really cant keep him on them to long so I will have to take him to the vet again if it does not clear up in a day or two but he really is sounding sooo much better so im keeping my finger's crossed. And about the name you are so right Max I will rename him he does need a strong name since he is so a fighter he truly is he is just so precious and so are his brothers and sisters but he has my heart..little angel

You could also put some hot water bottles in with the pups for when mom is out. Just keep them covered so the pups aren't laying in direct contact- a towel or something wrapped around it should be fine. I like hot water bottles better than heating pads because I am paranoid, and at that age, I am afraid they would use the bathroom on the heating pad or something and get shocked. Again, probably paranoia, but I think hot water bottles are safer. Keep up the good work!
