The major stitches are internal. Usually by five days there is enough healing done to be okay. Just watch her, and use a crate!!!

Reboot,

The first day after surgery is the easiest. It seems the longer they are kept still, the more hyper they get. I opened Vala's crate the morning after and she flew out and jumped half way up my leg. Each day she has found a way to do something that is really bad for stitches.

We are thankful we have 4 more days to go. Those 10 days are the LONGEST ever for a puppy. And for us too. dog

Hi Hilda and everyone,

My mom called the Vet just to make sure as the redness has stayed the same since the other day. He said he used one continuous stitch and what she described, he thought I may have pulled the knot. But I should be FINE!

She also asked to make sure if it was OK to use Neosporen. They said sure and Saturday I can do everything I want! cheer

Thanks so much!

Kit came home from his neuter just as hyper as ever. He pulled one of his stitches and the wound was open more near the stich he pulled. He got a larger scab in that spot when he was healing but it healed up fine within a week and now he doesn't have even a trace of a scar. smile
