	So I see that over vaccinating is bad. But I don't really want to shell out the money for a titer every year. I mean, if I have to I will. But I'm just wondering, about how many years can you go without vaccinating your dogs? I know it is different for every dog. But I just want to see what everyone mostly does. I was thinking about going every other year or every three years with her rabies. So I just want to see how long you usually go without vaccinating.

	we get our vaccinations every 3 years except for lepto and when we get bordetella we get that every year, too, but I decided not to get that one this year

	check out this vaccine schedule by an excellent vet Dr. Dodds. Dr. Jean Dodds' Recommended Vaccination Schedule Never get combination or multiple vaccines the same day if you can help it. Ask your vet, the vet might try to dismiss you at first only because it is more of a hassle for some vets to aquire noncombination vaccines. Lyme, leptospiris, and bordetella are all short lived vaccines 6 months to 1 year. I would be interested in knowing titer results for them if they do last longer but from what I read about them I doubt they last long.

	I am very confused or unsure about this as well. My dogs got all there shots as a pup and then each yr after than up to this point. Brodie is due right now and I am out of work so I just can't pay for the titer now. I am thinking about just doing his checkup and rabies this yr, but haven't decided yet. Most all dog books I have read said after one yr of age that doggies just need their other shots every 3 yrs.

	If money is tight and the dog had all puppy vaccines, you should be able to get by with a checkup and a rabies vaccine for now. Titer next year when things are (hopefully) a little better.

	I hear ya. You don't want to neglect it for a long time (ie, go more than a year or so without either titering or vaccinating), but as long as you've got your rabies vaccine to satisfy legalities (and also being that it is a fatal disease), you should be ok. Unless you need to see the vet for something else, you may want to try to hit a vaccination clinic at Petco or something. Save that Care Credit for, God forbid, an emergency or something else dire.

	Yeah for real. Well, I am going ahead and going to my vet, I do want him to have his annual checkup bc his bottom crooked teeth need checked. One was loose awhile back and then tightened back up. I made the appt for the rabies, and checkup and told her to let the vet know I want to talk to him about the other stuff.
