Diatomaceous earth as tick prevention?

This forum is for dog lovers seeking everyday advice and suggestions on health-related issues. Remember, however, that advice on a public forum simply can't be a substitute for proper medical attention. Only your vet can say assuredly what is best for your dog.

I saw this product:

Flea-Remedy/999012.aspx>Only Natural Pet All-in-One Flea Remedy

It says to rub the powder along your dog's spine, legs, belly, neck, and it will kill fleas and ticks.

My dogs don't have any. But I thought maybe this could be used it in place of stuff like frontline.

But the problem is it won't kill ticks unless the tick comes into direct contact with the DE. so you'd have to put the stuff everywhere to the tip of the tail to the head. Not sure about thatthinking Anyone try this though?

ETA oooh. and check this out if you want Anibio Tic-Clip it's this little metal tag that supposedly creates a tick barrier with a bioenergtic field. Hard to believe, but interesting.
