This forum is for dog lovers seeking everyday advice and suggestions on health-related issues. You should put him down.. A little bit of a rant.

Some people just don't understand. You do, and that's all that matters! Everyone seems to think they know what's best for you when really they just have no clue.

Thanks so much everyone hug

I just really needed to vent... And I figured talking to a bunch of other dog lovers, people would let me know I'm not over-reacting (as she thought I was). I probably won't have this "friend" over anymore. Even if she isn't a dog lover like me, to say something about someones pet that they KNOW they love is just rude and hurtful.

There's a saying....

"Those that matter, will understand. Those that don't understand, don't matter."

There is no need to call this person a "friend", she obviously doesn't understand what "friendship" really is. A "friend" would never be that insensitive, even in disagreement.

If it's a situation where you won't be able to avoid running into her, perhaps "distant acquaintance" would be a more suitable label. wink

I'm sorry to hear this. When my Kayla was getting older and we knew it was about her time, my son had a girl and her sister over to play pool. The sister saw Kayla and had to comment on how "gross" she was. She was put in her place quick. Why do people understand when they see a 90 year old woman, but when it's a pet it's "gross".

DessieapplauseapplauseapplausePi, you were very polite and gave this "friend" every opportunity to mind her own business. Since she is clearly void of compassion I think the time to tell her to "Shut the ---- up" would have been appropriate. Best of luck to you and your pup. Hes a cutie.
