can dogs get human germs

This forum is for dog lovers seeking everyday advice and suggestions on health-related issues. Remember, however, that advice on a public forum simply can't be a substitute for proper medical attention. Only your vet can say assuredly what is best for your dog.

There are very few germs that are capable of jumping between species. Don't worry, your dog should be fine!

Dogs get colds too just like humans and yes some disease can be passed back and forth between dog and human. Our anatomy and physiology is nearly identical. But they don't pick up every bacteria and virus we carry in our body either.

I wouldn't worry about Willy Moo though, he's just checking out how your smell has changed because of your illness and whether their is anything to be alarmed about. Dogs do that.

laugh out loudWillie! Abby does the same thing if my husband or I are sick, then she usually becomes a velcro dog and won't leave our side until we are healthy again! Crazy pups!
