Some heros have- capes; I have- paws!

Lexi's starting kicking out her back legs (as if there were something on them) and then biting the pads of her feet. This was after we administered a dose of k9 Advantix. We started her on the preventative last month and she didn't have any reactions. This is the only change we've made and and we're wondering if she's having a reaction on her feet from where she scratched the application spot on her neck. It's become more frequent as the day's gone on-- now doing it every five or ten minutes...

Does anyone have any experience with this? HELP!!

We stopped using this on Buddy. After we would apply it, he would begin to act very strange. Normally he is attached to my hip, but when I would apply the Advantix he would have nothing to do with me. At first I thought he was just upset with me for putting it on him. But then I noticed that he would go off the parts of the house that he usually never went. He would tuck his nub and walk in almost a crouch. I am not certain what was wrong, but we started using Frontline and that has been working out better. Also, the Advantix seemed to have an odor that none of us liked.
Sorry we can't be of more help. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. We did some snooping around online and found some horror stories about reactions to this product. We just bathed Lexi and gave her a little benadryl, but she's still running around kicking her hind legs out like a donkey, chasing her tail, chewing her feet, and otherwise acting crazy. Some of the stories we found claimed that the symptoms never went away and the dogs are still "not right." How long do these symptoms last? A couple days? We're starting to get worried...

I used it on Farrah, although not for very long. I'm wondering if that is what caused her cancer, but other reactions, she had none. It worked for her, but you do have to remember that not all flea preventatives are right for all dogs.

I never used it on Paige-I was not sure what to use on a Havanese so I made a couple of phone calls & got inf from another group we belong to and decided K9 was not for her. I don't like the idea of using any type of chemicals on her but in the end decided on FrontLine Plus-there seemed to be less problems with it. And I have not seen any type of problems when I use it.

We gave Lexi some Benadryl and she seems better today. No more donkey kicks. But we called PetMeds and they are going to give us a full refund. I guess we'll have to switch to Frontline or something... Geez. Watch out!

Mommy uses Frontline Plus, and because it works fine and we never had any problems she will not try anything else.

Ginger, a Long Hair Chihuahua/Pomeranian, has had some strange reaction to K9 Advantix. After application between her shoulder blades she would immediately start rubbing her head on pillows and going tail over head on the sofa. Then she would act paranoid and hide. She will become restless and pant excessively. This would go on all night long until she falls asleep in my arms or under furniture from exhaustion. By the next morning she seemed fine. Not a fun thing to watch, Is there nothing else available to our small pets?

My best experiences has been with frontline... watch out for some off brands... I don't know about on dogs, but on Cats Bio-spot has been known to kill them, same with ferrets. check up on the brand before you purchase... a few bucks saved isn't worth your dogs life.
