|A Boston Terrier would be a good choice. They are a little peppy and full of fun, but will lay in bed with you for two weeks if you are sick.
This breed tends to be steady, and though they will be your shadow when you are home, separation anxiety is usually not an issue with this breed.
These dogs seem to be happy to do whatever you are doing, when you want to do it. If you like to bike ride, they will happily come along (though some like to ride in a basket). If you like to be a couch potato, they will hang out with you on the couch. Walks or no walks. Training or no training. It's all fine with a Boston terrier.
However they do like to play fetch. Indoors or out- it's your choice.
These dogs are very smart and easy to train as well. I've owned many mixed breeds and pures including poodles, blue heelers, ausie mixes, lab mixes, border collie mixes but my smartest and easiest to get along with dogs have all been Boston Terriers.
These dogs can and do excel at agility and are easy to train for obedience though they are not popular in obedience for some reason. People most likely just don't know that they make good obedience and agility dogs.
