The story of why you choose your Dogs name

If you are wondering what is the right dog for you, this is the place to be. In this introductory forum we talk about topics such as breed vs. mix, size, age, grooming, breeders, shelters, rescues as well as requirements for exercise, space and care. No question is too silly here. This particular forum is for getting and giving helpful, nice advice. It is definitely not a forum for criticizing someone else's opinion, knowledge or advice. This forum is all about tail wagging and learning.

I'm a big fan of boy names for girl dogs (my previous girl was Charlie, so apparently I also have a thing for C names!). She came to us named Tala and I nixed that right away.

I've always loved the name Gracie for a dog. When I got Gracie at 7 weeks old, I was trying out names to see if they fit. I finally narrowed it down to Gracie and Angel. I called out Angel and she didn't respond at all. When I said Gracie, she looked up at me. So, since that one was the only name she responded to, I chose the name Gracie. Also, she has grace. She can be clumsy sometimes, though. smile

A little late but had to join the fun. laugh out loud Zoe we picked because when got her it wasnt a very common name. It turned out that Zoe means "life."

Kashmir was a little harder. At first she was going to be named Jasmine and called Jazzy or Jazz but being 17 and having immature male friends they were going to call her something else insteadred face so that was out. She then was a Scarlett and then Brandy. But she was super soft. So i came with Cashmere but hated the way it spelled so we spelled like the Led Zeppelin song Kashmir!! happy dance

Morrison

Hello, I Love- You

Morrison- His original name was "Carter" which made me think of Aaron or Nick Carter lol. I thought he was such a free loving guy and he has a lovely singing voice. Jim Morrison seemed like a good fit laugh out loud. He also shares the dark hair of his namesake.

It suits him well. And every single person who meets him comments on how awesome his name is dancing.

Maggie May- her original name was "Tootsie" and I just could not call her that with a straight face. I was raised in a home of music. And so she is named after the Rod Stewart song "Maggie May". I should have really named her "Piglet" because that fits her so much better big laugh.

Luna- her original name was Jasmine. But her previous owner said she would answer to anything. I didn't feel like Jasmine suited her. She is such a weird, quirky, goofy, but very smart puppy. My favorite character in the Harry Potter character was always "Luna Lovegood" lol. So I let my inner kid take over and named the silly Beagle after the silly character. It fits her personality perfectly.

Foxy is the only dog who still has her original name. And that's just because she have rescued her at a older age. And Foxy fits her just fine big grin
