 | | | | Hey there!
I always get great advice on dogster so I thought I would run some things by you all.
My grandma passed away Thursday and my husband and I are adopting her 9 year old Boston, Sara. We have a 2 year old human son and 2 puppers, Gizmo, 10.5 yr australian cattle dog, and Milo, 9 year old Boxer mix who is deaf. I brought her home today after a vet check yesterday and so far so good. I used to do quite a bit of foster before my son was born and G and M were always awesome but I have concerns now that they are older and son is in the picture.
Gizmo and Sara are doing great but she and Milo are a little off both wanting to smell each other a little too much and dominant posturing. I calmly redirect them and we haven't had any fights but I can feel the tension.
It has only been 3 hours but just looking for any tips or encouragment to help them all move into this new phase.
Secondly, she is about 10 pounds overweight! She also has some hair loss which we (the vet and I) are attributing to living in a very hot apartment (85 or above!) and poor quality food and treats.
Any tips on diet selection for bostons?
Thanks and I will make her dogster profile soon! | | | | |
