A while ago, we lost our poor little sheltie Zoe to cancer. It was very hard and I don't think anybody is ready for a new dog quite yet, but I thought I'd get ahead on breed research. I found out about the Border Terrier and I have a few questions for anyone who's willing to help me.

1) Do BT's shed a lot? My mother wants a dog that sheds as little as possible.

2) Are they affectionate? I really want a dog that likes to be with me and wants some attention.

I tried to find out these answers for myself, but I find that the information on tends to be inconsistent from site to site.

1) They do shed a bit, though not generally as much as some other dogs might. It can vary quite a bit between dogs, though, despite the fact that they are of the same breed.

2) They're definately affectionate. They love nothing more than cuddling up to you on the sofa, although when they're pups they can often like to eat your ankles, but they can be trained to stop this. puppy
