hi everyone im new here, i finally got my dream and found little Sofie last week she is the most adorable little friend.Im not sure if she was cared for before i got her (she is 4), She seems very shy and not v.confident ,maybe she is naturally quite but id like her to feel more secure and happy. She is better on the lead now but her appetite is poor , i have brought her to the vet to check her out and going back again fri i think he thinks she might be having puppies ??
She is very gentle i just want her to be happy puppy

What a beautiful little girl you have with Sofie. I too was very shy when I arrived into rescue at age 2. I've come a long way with mom's patience and perseverance. Make sure you socialize Sofie as much as possible. way to go That has helped me a lot. Our vet says not to discourage me when I bark, since that's me expressing myself and coming out of my shell. Good luck !dog We surely hope that you don't have puppies, since that will be an extra burden for you to carry..... frown

The best idea is to try never to use negative reinforcement even when punishing....Use positive reinforcement instead. Get her outside and be very supportive in any social attempt she makes. Make sure to introduce her to calm people/animals too, avoid little children or unpredictable situations until shes very comfortable with calm people. Have people come to your house. If you introduce new people in new aurrounding it might overwhelm her more. Overall don't force the interaction and let her have space in case she needs to escape.
