Even Gunther learned weaving through my legs, jumping through my arms, and to spin on commands really quickly. I'm sure you could do an AWESOME trick! What about sit pretty?

Lots of great suggestions! Thanks everyone!

I'm working on both jump through my arms and leg weaves with Rigby right now.
If we had more kids in the class (or if I knew more kids) I bet the kid-jump trick would be a real crowd pleaser too smile

And working on backwards weaving with Coby, which is going surprisingly well. I forgot how quickly he picks up on things.
But my arms just don't seem to be long enough to make a hoop to fit him, it was an interesting couple of tries laugh out loud

I am DETERMINED to get that post-it note one eventually. And the "Are you ashamed" one looks great too! They'll be my next projects when I'm not so constrained for time, because apparently my dogs are challenged when it comes to nose tricks big laugh

Both Rigby and Cobain seem too long and thin through the mid section to balance a sit pretty. Oz is pretty compact so he got it quickly, but it's been 6 years and Coby still can't seem to do it, so my hopes for little skinny Rigby are thin frown BOL

My dog is a bit like your dogs. He learned to sit pretty, but it took him some time to build strength and balance to do it steady and tall.

He also didn't like the sticky-note method. Instead, I just captured him swiping at his face and put it on cue.

You might start with a hula hoop and then your arms partly around a hula hoop and then eventually do just the arms.

But Gus is a 22", 59 lb. girl and somehow she manages to get through my arm hoop without too much trouble! laugh out loud Be sure not to get your head in the way .. . . my boss tries to make the hoop for Gus and she won't do it for him-- I think it's because he gets his head in the way and partly blocks the hole . . . You can also just kneel down and hold one arm out as a jump instead of the hoop. I first taught her to jump a broom stick held out and then gradually substituted my arm.

How tall are you?
I'm 5'3" and Cobain is roughly the same size as Gus, he'll go through the arms but just hit every side on the way through laugh out loud
Rigby is good at it though
Just working on finding a word to use that doesn't interfere with the agility work, hoop, jump, through etc. all have been used for other things.

I was going to start with a hula hoop as we used to have one for this exact reason...but now I can't seem to find it. naughty

I'm 5'4", so I don't think my arms are very long--I think it's o.k. if they touch. I don't try to hold a "tight" hoop or anything--Gus kinda separates my arms sometimes . . . .

I've used "hup" and "through" (I think) same as for through hoops in agility, but really just me making the hoop is the cue that she's going to go through it when I call her from her stay, at this point I don't usually say anything . . .

I don't think I have any video of me doing the arm hoops, but there is a video on my page, if you go to video book, of her jumping hula hoops, both through and over the whole top (which I think is pretty funny) and just jumping my arm sticking out.

I tried the post-it on the nose with Sarah- no luck! She just ignored it and kept sitting for me. If I waited, she just wagged her tail harder!! haha!! Maybe I'll try it again another time...
