 | | | | Tessie, there is a world of difference between hunters dumping dogs and the hoax they were helping perpetuate (IE a game where dogs were being freeze branded then hunted/killed for points or money). Their participation in this hoax hurts their credibility in the long run, but if anything, this has shown how easy it is to use social media to perpetuate hoaxes and how the clueless masses eat it up.
Also, having looked into some of their other practices, they have completely lost all credibility in my book. When you are soo money/fame hungry that you won't let other members of your group go out unless they have a camera crew with them, routinely step in and disrupt other rescue groups fundraisers (see the link I posted for just one instance and understand he has done it to others as well, including former members of his own group), and are otherwise AW'ing in ways that aren't rescuing or helping any animals, you are no longer benefiting animals, only yourself.
I don't just blame Rescue Ink, but also feel the Greenville-Greene County Humane Society. If they had just wanted to bring light to the issue of hunters dumping dogs after hunting season, I wouldn't have an issue with it, but again, don't use an obvious field trial dog and don't lie. In fact, if you (general you...in this case the G-GCHS or any other shelter) want to highlight that issue, give us some real numbers on how many dumped dogs you are getting and when they are coming in. Then again, to do it and do it right, they would also have to give us the numbers on how many hunting dogs get picked up during hunting season and reclaimed. | | | | |
