When we give our dogs a job to do, it makes them happy. Example, husband will walk over to the the mail box with Hucky, put the mail in his mouth and tell him to go give it to mommy. Huck will run to me, I take the mail and praise him for being such a good boy. He wags his tail and gets all excited and I know he's happy. Husband asks for a beer, I give it to Huck and say go give it to Daddy, Huck runs to Daddy and gives him his beer, Daddy says what a good boy and Hucky is happy. I think it makes him feel important to have some kind of a job other then the usual sit, stay, paw
