Photo Manager Questions
How many additional photos am I allowed to have with a DogsterPlus subscription?
You are allowed to have up to 200 photos of your pet.
How do I upload the additional photos?
You can upload the additional photos by going to your account page and then selecting the Photo Manager link for the pet you wish to upload more photos. In the Photo Manager you will find a link to upload more photos for this pet. You can upload up to 3 photos at a time.
How do I add a caption to a photo?
Go to your account page and click on the Photo Manager link for the pet with the photo you would like to caption. Within the Photo Manager, next to each photo you will find a text field where you can enter the caption. Then be sure to click submit to save your new captions. You can also add a caption when uploading a new photo through the Photo Manager.
How do I re-order my photos?
What does "Display" mean in the Photo Manager?
For each photo you can select the display value to 'on' or 'off'. This will determine if that photo will appear on your pet's page or photo book.
What are photo "tags"?
Tagging is a neat way to add a keyword or two (or more) to a photo that describes it in a qualitative way. For instance, if my photo was of my dog was playing Frisbee on the beach, I might tag the photo "beach, frisbee, gordon setter, sun." Or, if my cat was sitting on a table next to a vase of red roses, I might tag that photo "red, roses". We have developed a search tool that allows you to create searches based on these tags. Now, if you search for 'beach', you will get a stroll of photos from the beach. Pretty cool, huh?
How do I add a Custom Frame to a photo?
Go to your account page and click on the Photo Manager link for the pet with the photos you would like to add a frame to. To the right of each photo, in the 'Tools' column is a drop-down box where you can select a frame for that photo. You can also see examples to test which frame looks best for each photo.
How do I remove a photo?
Go to your account page and click on the Photo Manager link for the pet with the photos you would like to delete. Next to each photo except the primary photo in the 'Tools' column is a link to remove the photo. An alert box will confirm your decision to permanently remove the photo from our servers.
How do I remove my pet's primary photo?
You cannot remove the primary photo. You can, however, re-order your photos so that a new photo is in the first order position. Save that re-ordering by clicking "submit" at the buttom of the photos. When the page reloads your previously primary photo will no longer be the current primary photo and can now be deleted.
Extra Bio Fields
How do I add extra bio fields?
Go to your account page and click on 'Modify biography & traits' for the pet profile that you would like to add extra bio fields to. Then click on "Fun Stuff" to open the extra bio field section. Each DogsterPlus subscriber can have up to 9 extra bio fields that you can create yourself. For example, for Field Name enter "Best Friend", for Body enter "Sparky". Save your changes. On the pet page you will see "Best Friend: Sparky".
How do I access the DogsterPlus Forum?
First, you must be logged in and have a currently active DogsterPlus subscription account. Then if you go to the Forums homepage you should see the Subscriber-only forum as the first main topic listed. Remember you must be logged in! So if you are switching between browsers and are used to auto-login logging you in, you may have to explicitly log in.
What the heck is a Rosette?
A Rosette is a fun way of telling another dog or cat that you like them. When you give a Rosette the small Rosette icon will appear on the page of the pet you are giving it to. You can also leave a short message as to why you are leaving the Rosette. It is kinda like a public note or testimonial. "Sparky, you are the best! Love, Fido!" Then if anyone clicks on that Rosette they will see a pop-up with the Rosette giver and his or her message. Also, the giver will have a Rosette on their pet page to show how many and to whom they have given Rosettes to. Also, the giver will see a list of Rosettes on their pet page showing how many and to whom they have given Rosettes to this month. It may sound a little complicated but give it a try. It's super fun!
How long do I have to give my Rosettes away?
You will have 1 month to give you Rosettes away or else they will expire. We have recently changed the Plus program so that subscribers receive 25 Zealies per month instead of Rosettes. Zealies do not expire so you have as long as you want to give them away. You can use Zealies to give away Rosettes, Stars and Special Gifts.
How long do Rosettes last once given?
To keep the pages fresh, Rosettes will be displayed in the stats box at the top of a pet's page for 1 month from the gift date. After that, they get moved to the Rosette History page, where you can always see a pet's entire list of Rosettes given or received.
Can I give Rosettes to any pet?
Cat or Dog, Dog or Cat, Plus subscriber or not, you can give them to anyone.
What are Stars?
Stars are like Rosettes except they last forever. They also are less common and more valuable. Stars are the ultimate way to tell someone you think they are special. Stars that you've been given will always show up in the stats box at the top of the pet page. You can use Dogster Zealies to get Stars.
What are Zealies?
Zealies are the local currency of Dogster. Let's say you've seen a really pawtastic pup on the site and you want to give them something really cool to show them that you're thinking of them. You can give them a Rosette or a Star. If you're a Plus subscriber you have 25 Rosettes to give away each month (we will always pull from your Rosette balance first, Zealies balance second). But, if you've already given them all away or you are not a Plus subscriber or if you want to give a Star, then you can buy some Zealies and use them to gift a Rosette or Star. It's easy! Buy some Zealies here!
You can also send a check to Dogster, i-5 Publishing, Inc., Attn. Zealies, 2017 Mission Street, 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94110. Please make sure to tell which package you want.

I have a monthly subscription but would like to switch to a yearly, how can I do so?
This is a great idea but will take a couple of steps (Sorry! We are working on it!). First you will need to cancel you monthly subscription https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_subscr-find&alias=paypal%40dogster%2ecom That will stop you from being charged for the next month. When your current month expires, i.e. you no longer have access to the subscription features, you can renew at the subscribe page.

Simply sign up again. We will have saved all you previous settings and photos so things will look just like they did when you stopped your service the first time.
Do I have to pay via Paypal or can I send in a check?
If you would rather pay by check or money order, please make it payable to Dogster, Inc. and mail to:
Please make sure to include the pet id(s) of the pet(s) for whom you are buying the subscription and your Dogster account email address (write legibly please). If it is for a gift subscription just include the pet id(s). It will take about 10 business days to process though we'll try to do it faster.

Where can I find the DogsterPlus Subscription Terms and Conditions of use?
I thought Dogster was supposed to be a free site. What gives?
Don't worry, we still are! We are primarily focused on developing the site for all users and keeping it free. However, some users let us know that they want a few extras and are willing to pay for them. Running a free site gets expensive so having a little income from the users interested in subscribing helps a lot. We are still making the majority of features for everyone!!! We think of this like t-shirts. Some people want them and are willing to buy them. Some don't want or need one. But we are all still pet lovers and all still loving Dogster. We hope you agree. If you have any feelings about this let us know.
