 Quick Bio:
Likes: Running, playing, being pet, snuffling (sniffing your chin), belly rubs, romping with other pups, kids, breakfast, rolling in open green spaces, going for walks - I am good on my leash, especially with my "easy walker" harness

Pet-Peeves: The gentle leader. I like the easy walker instead. I also really don't like a Buddha mask in the basement or the "Toleration" statue in the park... it creeps me out.

Favorite Toy: The extreme Kong. With peanut butter inside

Favorite Food: Well I generally eat science diet. But I love liver treats.

Favorite Walk: Fairmont Park

Best Tricks: The whole routine. Sit. Stay (a good one). Shake. Down. Even Roll Over. That's right, I roll over for treats.

Arrival Story: Lola is a rescue dog with PAWS in Philadelphia. She is up for adoption.

Bio: I was picked up as a stray not far from North Broad Street, a pretty rough part of town. At the time, I lost a lot of hair to non-contagious mange. People were afraid to touch me because of all my scabs, but all I wanted was to be pet! The shelter staff called me "Scabby," but they all loved me because I was so nice (and pathetic looking). My foster parents named me Lola because they knew I was beautiful inside.
That was way back in October.
Today I'm happy, healthy, and live with my foster family - I have really learned to be a great pup. I'm house-trained, crate-trained, play well with other dogs, kids, and people. I'm really not sure about cats though, I like to chase them, but maybe I could learn to leave them be. I'm sweet and playful and have tons of energy. I love to go for hikes in the Wissahickon gorge and romp with my foster brother at the park (and in the house).
I'm looking for a forever home nearby! Email my foster parents if you'd like to meet me! I'm looking for an active family with some dog experience that is willing to give me lots of affection and exercise. I am quite the ham, and appreciate as much lovin' as I can get.

I just noticed. My ears flop differently. One sticks up almost all the time. And the other usually folds over. And they are both spotted. How silly.
When I get really excited they both can go up or back. But usually one is stuck up, one is down... funny.

Well, I have a lot of back story to fill you in on, so I'll start on where I first met my foster family (warning, this story is kind of gross - but it gets better). After the animal control folks found me wandering the mean streets (looking for pets and love, naturally), I was brought to the pound. I was so covered in giant fleas that people thought they were part of my black spots (which I do have, like a dalmatian). I also had some pretty deep and oozy scabbing from my mange (which wasn't contagious). All said, I was in bad shape. Then, one day, my foster mom & dad picked me up from the pound and BOY WAS I A HAPPY GIRL.
When they got me home my foster mom bathed me and picked off all those fleas (this is the one time I really didn't mind bathing). They kept me on my mange medicine and I was all healed up in a few months. (Plus, when I had no hair during winter, I got a nice pink coat to keep me warm outside). Now people call me beautiful again!
I also met my foster brother when I got to my new temporary home. I was very excited to see him, and even though he is smaller than me (especially now that I am healthy), I let him be the boss from day one. A lot of times I even try to copy what he is doing to make sure I am doing something right. When we play (which I love, love, love to do), I always let him win and roll over on my back.
I think that covers how we met. So much has happened, so many adventures! I'll have to let you know about all the things I've learned and places I've been since I came here!
