Today is my birthday. I am 3 years old. The Humane Society of Independence County had its 1st Annual Bark in the Park today. Mom took me. It was like my own very special party. We had so much fun! It started will a Walk/Run. Then they made me a special scarf that said Happy Birthday. I made lots of new friends both furry and people. Everyone was giving me special attention. I wuved it. They sang Happy Birthday to me. Mom entered us in the Best Kisser Contest. I took 2nd place and got lots of prizes. On the way home, mom went to McDonald's and got hamburgers for me and my sisters. What a day. I had so much fun. I wish this day would never end.
After about 8 weeks of nasty antibiotics, I think we have conquered the ugly TBDs. I am feeling so much better now that I am not having to take those nasty pills twice a day. They made me sick to my stomach and I lost about 10 pounds but all that is in the past. I have to have ear drops for a while because I got a yeast infection from all the antibiotics but that's not too bad. Mom alwys gives me sugars after she puts the drops in. Everyone has been so nice and thoughtful. Thanks. A special four paw thanks to my vet Suzanne.
My mommy Front Lines me faithfully, even adds a tick collar. I wasn't feeling too good for a couple of days then I couldn't put any weight on my leg....It hurt. Mom took be to Dr. Suzanne and she took blood and sent it to the state lab. I have 2 tick borne diseases. She said I have Erlichy and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Dr. Suzanne gave me antibiotics, nausea medicine and pain medicine. It's been about 4 days now and I am feeling so much better. I have to stay on medicine for about 4 weeks. I don't like my medicine but I get some really good food to disguise it.
