I've started shedding my coat, and this is causing a whole lot of trouble for me. It's not like I am entirely like your normal German Shepherd you see.
Several German Shepherd people have told mommy and daddy that my coat "is to die for." This means that I have a gorgeous really thick plush undercoat underneath my top trace hairs.
Some people that don't know anything much about German Shepherds have told mommy that I am a long coat ----- hahahaha!!! Mommy just smiles and tells them that I am not, that I just have a truly correct coat for my breed.
While my coat may be extremely glamorous it sure is causing trouble now that it's shedding.
The others in my doggy household just let mommy brush them every night with the furminator and a needle brush when they are shedding. Mommy fills a supermarket bag with the shedded hair and after a week their coats are all out.
My coat is proving to be very difficult and different. Instead of it falling out, it is matting, and mommy can't pull it out in tufts like she does with the others.
Mommy is having to brush and furminate me thoroughly every night to stop the matting.
Neither mommy nor daddy can believe the vast amounts of undercoat that is coming out of me when I'm being brushed. Daddy says that the house is being filled up with Xena fur!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I filled the kitchen rubbish tidy completely with undercoat tonight.
I don't care about any of that though. As soon as I see mommy going to the doggy cupboard in the laundry to get the furminator and needles - I'm making a Xena dive behind the sofa!
