Arrival Story: I got Max as a six week old ball of fur in a pet shop near Christmas
in 1986. I lived with 2 room-mates at the time and we had three
dogs. When I struck out on my own, Max came with me and
became the dog of my heart for all times.

Bio: Max was my friend, my love, my heart, my life for almost thirteen
years. He loved being groomed...I could just call his name and
hold up the brush, and he would come running. He loved people and even people that did not like dogs, or had been afraid of them,
were touched by the gentle kindness of this sweet big guy. In March of 1999, we discovered that he had osteosarcoma (bone cancer) of the jaw. Despite a trial of chemotherapy, he had to go
to the Rainbow Bridge on May 5, 1999. His picture graced many
cards and local magazines, bookmarks for all seasons, and he was truly loved by all who met him....and is still loved by his Mom. Who said God does not make 4 legged angels????

Hi, everyone (and especially Mom)
Max here, at the Rainbow Bridge.....
Gosh, it seems like so long that I've been here. It's a good place, don't
get me wrong. The minute I got here, I was well again. No more jaw tumor,
no more pain, no more sickness. Lots of friends.....Sunshine.....bones........
I miss my Mom......my buddy Muffin is here with me, so I knew someone
here right away......
But I will be always waiting for my Mom.
I keep an eye on her....when I first came I had to say "hello" to her a lot
because she wasn't doing well at all, and it was tough for me to see that.
Now she's got three buddies of mine there with her....but I still
watch over her. After all, she is my mom.
Every year she makes a memorial for me on my Bridge Day.
Flowers, cards....and she takes a picture. She still gets sad but she
manages better.
Everything is good here.....but I sure will be glad when she comes to
meet me. I know she loves me forever and I want to tell her
that I love her forever too.....and I watch over her....and I'm really
not so far.
Look up at the stars in the night sky, Mom......me and Muffin
are there. We're well. We're as happy as we can be....but we
will be so glad to see you when you come. whenever that is.
Meanwhile, both of us will keep on loving you forever.
Signing off from the land of rainbows,
Your Sheepie
