Heaven help us all! My mom is in her Crusader mode again! She got this really cool book called "Scared Poopless" which is by this totally cute little Maltese dog and her Mom. The cute little Maltese dogs brother got autoimmune hepatitis from a vaccine! This Maltese mom became a crusader too....about holistic healing, about good diets for dogs....everything! The author is NOT a radical and presents info from several
very well known veterinarians, including Dr. Jean Dodds, who has done tons of research on vaccines and is working on a rabies vaccine study, to show what France already has shown.....that the rabies vaccine only needs to be given every 7 years.
Anyway....I'm getting like Mom, I digress. I think it's cuz I just turned 11 and when we age (oh I hate that word!) our lips (and the rest of us) get looser and looser.
I asked Mom if she was going to get someone to design a cape for her when she is on her Crusade. She looked at me like I had two heads.
Poor mom....even though she is not working as a nurse these days, she still thinks it's her responsibility to heal and save the world.
Well, I do admit that statement is a bit over the top. She told me that when her boy Max died she vowed she was not going to be taken in by vets who gave bad advice, vets who did not even give poor Max anything for pain as he was ending his days from bone cancer of the jaw. Mom decided, short of veterinary school, she was gonna learn everything and anything she could....and perhaps never again have a baby who suffered as our dear brother Max did.
Pretty heavy for a Saturday night.....but Mom means well. And she gives good elevator service up and down to that big fancy bed of ours where we all spend our nights in amazing comfort now!
Of course she tells the General and I both of us need to lose a pound or two. Sigh.
So does she.....and we remind her of that, lol! Guess it does take one to know one, bol!!!

Can't let Fluffy Lee or my mom do all the talking here, so I gotta tell you about our new bed. It is beautiful, elegant (where else would I be sleeping???) and.........IT HAS elevator service, lol!
Because it is high up, and neither the General or I can get up (or down) on our own,
every night when we go to bed, Mom picks us up, one at a time, and puts us on the bed.
We stay there all night just so we can get the same elevator down when it is time to get up and get moving. If I even look like I am thinking about jumping she grabs me and puts me down first. I take advantage of this to get down first before Fluffy Lee!!
All I can say is being a Royal has it's privileges!
Love and smiles,
Princess Pookie

Today, I am officially 11 years old. Mom has gotten me a new bed, a new pink ceramic food dish with "Princess" written on a silver tag on the front; she got me this wonderful grooming product, "Ice on Ice" that makes my coat shine even when it is not squeaky clean, and takes the tangles away, too! She got me freeze dried liver treats, and a new brush and comb to make grooming easier for me.
I am hoping she cooks Filet Mignon for me for dinner but I am not holding my breath.
Anyway, I do not feel like an old dog yet, so I am still gonna be a Princess, aggravate my brother, Fluffy Lee, and be as beautiful as ever.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!
