Watching Marley and Me

It's Sunday afternoon and a cool, cloudy day in Massachusetts. I'm babysitting for a little 2 year old Yorkie named Missy who lives across the street and is Willie's best friend in the neighborhood.

I made some popcorn and Willie sat on one side of the couch and Missy on the other and we started watching Marley and Me together.

As I read the book, I didn't think it would make me cry. How, how wrong I was!

As beautiful Marley started to age, I look at my darling boy Willie and know too well the heartache of seeing your beloved pup slow down a bit. Having little Missy only shows me that there is a difference between a 2 year old and a 13 year old dog.

The final scene where the family is saying their goodby to Marley at his grave was gut-retching and I began to sob. Little Missy crawled into my lap and looked up at me with soulful eyes knowing something was wrong. My beloved boy, Willie snuggled up and started to lick my tears which only made me cry harder. I hugged them both and watched til the end and finally came to Dogster as I have so many times when I was happy and more so when I was sad.

I will read the antics of Willie's friends to cheer me up before taking both pups out for a walk. How I love these dear little pals of Willie's and how will I survive saying goodby to Willie when it's his time to go, I wonder? Well, until that time, I will enjoy every moment of every day with the best dog in the world - The Cool Dude of Haverhill - My Beloved Willie, the Yorkie who stole my heart from the first moment I saw him.

Marley and Me is a joyous adventure and love story of sharing your life with a dog. Anyone who has ever owned and loved a dog will enjoy and understand the love and heartache of this story.

I had a hard time watching the end of Marley & Me...I finally had to leave the room, it was to close to home for me. Losing Stormy has been heartbreaking and there is not one day when I don't think of her and Thank God she was in my life, even if it was for a short time.
Love you bunches, Hugs to the Wilster.

Mom cries every time she sees Marley and Me. She recently had a sleepover with her friends, and they all ended the movie crying their eyes out. Marley reminds mom a lot like me. Naughty, and crazy, and mom can only imagine what I will be like when I turn one!

Hugs to you Willie,

The book made my mommy cry so much, she's afraid to watch the movie. Your mom is right -- enjoy every second of life with us. (I especially tell her that when I poot in her face or drag my butt on the carpet...)

Yes we watched the movie too and it was very very hard to watch the scene you described ....we are so lucky to have these best friends to share our lives with. They make us better people and show us true love and devotion.
We are all here to support you and each other if and when that day comes.
