Arrival Story:
I met Jacob and his litter mates when they were 3 days old. I really wanted another male Silken that I could train at an early age for racing. My wonderful breeder offered me the opportunity to take one of the males and co-own him with her. I couldn't decide which male as this other male puppy would always come over first to greet me and he was all bubbly and playful. I loved the red color of Jacob, but he was more reserved everytime I met him. So I took both home for a few days and watched them in my environment, how they were around my other Silkens , and if they showed any interest in my lure toys. Jacob took to the lure toys like that and his brother was too busy exploring and running around the yard to stay interested in the toys. They both were great pups and have loving, playful personalities. It was a hard decision, but my goal was to have another racing Silken, so Jacob was chosen. He is showing great promise on the practice field and is so lure crazy, just like his racing champion father. Nothing is more exciting than watching a Sighthound do what comes natural to them. Running like to wind!

Little Jacob has turned out to be quite the racing boy. He is very lure keen and just loves the thrill of the chase. Being the social and silly boy he is I decided to start him in straight racing at about a year and a half old, seeing that he needed a little more maturity so as not to play around on the track. Once he started and got the feel for the straight race track he was a crazed Silken. He earned his Straight Racing Championship Sept. 2010 and then I started him in lure coursing May 2010 and he quickly earned his Field Championship title in 6 trials! Because of his small size lure coursing seems to be his best event and he just loves the longer more challenging course that lure coursing offers. His sisters Mocha, Eden & Lili are also showing they have the racing genes his Daddy Pride passed down. This litter is proving that good things come in small packages.
