no nifty titles at the moment xD
Hello pups,
I went to my second CGC class today. I was such as good girl. ;)
I did everything fine, apart from breaking my 1-minute stay at 30 seconds. Twice. Ooops. xD Also didn't want to leave Mummy so I could do the recall. I kept sneaking up behind her. BOL. I've started doing my proper heelwork position too. I'm usually too distracted but last week and more this week, I've started holding the proper position for a few seconds before looking away. Hooray. The trainer also made a comment about my heelwork being appropriate for competitive obedience to the class. =)
We did a few different things today. We attempted a formal retrieve with a dumbell. I've been working on this for a while so did it okay for my first go. I didn't like to hold the dumbell too long though. We also did scent training, where a treat is hiden under a hanky. I had to find the treat and bring the hanky to Mummy. See. My fetch-a-hanky-when-Mummy-sneezes-trick is a useful trick. BOL. I found the treat and brought the slightly chewed and wet hanky to Mummy. BOL.
Also we may be going to a Heelwork-to-Music workshop at the end of September. Providing Mummy can get in contact with them... Mummy is so excited so I hope we can go.
Bye bye. I'm off to watch the sky with Mummy.

Hola pups, (that's Spanish, that is! =D)
Iz back from my first CGC class. Iz a big girl now! Anyway here's the run down. Some of it. ;)
1) Full recall - perfecto ;)
2) Lead walking - semi-perfecto ;)
3) Gate - prefect!
4) Walking to heel off lead - mega-pawsome! ;)
5) One minute stay - got to 30 seconds then Mummy laughed. (why?) I was staring at her so intensely, with my huge fluffy ears & wide brown eyes that she starting giggling. Silly Mummy. Got to 30 seconds again & the dog next to me moved, which made me jump & I ran to Mummy. BOL.
It was a small class overall. With me & three other dogs - a poodle thingy, the Ridgeback from my puppy classes & a Rottie/Staffy/something else mix.
Back next week.
Hasta luego,
Gypsy x

I love mud! Wonderful, smelly, dirty mud!
We went for a walk though the woods yesterday and there were lots of really muddy puddles there. I loved them. At first, I jumped over them, then I splashed right through them, and then I jumped into them & in the process of stratching myself I rolled over in it. I was black when we got home. BOL.
Baths are so not fun, though.
Mummy has just been to see the new Harry Potter film with a furriend. Do you wanna hear her opinion of it? - "It was wayyyy too long." Mummy's like a Border Collie, sitting still for almost 3 hours sucks. BOL.
A now white agian,

We recently finished reading Marley & Me by John Grogan. It is a lovey book & would recommend it to any animal lover.
This quote from the book really moved us so we thought we'd share it:
"A dog has no use for fancy cars or big homes or designer clothes. Status symbol means nothing to him. A waterlogged stick will do just fine. A dog judges others not by their color or creed or class but by who they are inside. A dog doesn't care if you are rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his."

Today, 22nd July 2009, I passed my Puppy Foundation Assessment. Woohoo. I got my first certificate & rosete. (Pictures will follow tomorrow)
I start my Bronze CGC training in two weeks.
Also going to another fun dog show & village fete this Saturday. This puppy sure gets around. Sometimes we wonder why I'm so nervious, because I go to so many different places & meet so many different people & dogs. It gets one quite down, you know.

Today I am 20 weeks old. That's five months. I'm becoming a big girl. We've just took some photos & will upload them later.
Mummy is going out in a minute to get me some more tennis balls because all my other balls have been distroyed. It wasn't me. I'm a good girl. =)
I have my last puppy class next Wednesday. We have an assessment & when I pass we can move ont the CGC bronze award, the Wednesday after that.
Border Collies Hugs,

Good morning, pups.
Last night I had my 5th puppy class, & I know you're dying to know how it went. BOL.
We have this new dog joining us - it's an older, very unruly dog. It barked throughout the entire lesson. I'm nervious of other dogs & don't like it when they bark. Obviously he is entitled to be there but we wished they at least tried to quieted him up. It's at time like these Mummy wishes these classes were "puppy classes" like the clubs advert & the owner suggested they were.
My heelwork was awesome, well apart from when I tried to make a dash for the door. We got to play with the tunnel as well, which was fun. I ran straight through. My stays need some work though as I would not stay at all, but they was mainly because said dog was barking & making me anxious. I'm usually very good at my stays.
We've also got to stop doing these Clicky

I'm sure everypup has their own list of strange comments and questions that they get from people
Here are a few of mine that I get when I'm out:
Comments
1) Looks like a sheep (okay, maybe when I was little)
2) Looks like a wolf (erm, from a sheep to a wolf - interesting)
3) Looks like Batman (what? are you insulting me?)
4) That dog's right ace (why thankyou)
5) That dog's beautiful (tehe)
6) I want that dog (from a 4/5 year old)
Questions
1) Are they related?
2) What breed is that? (you wouldn't believe how often people ask this)
3) Will she go darker?
4) When will she get her black patches? (okay, I'm not a Dalmatian)
Some of them, especially the questions, amuse us no end.
