So off Mum & me went to our first ever starters flyball competition. Mum was optimisic, but excited.
We travelled in style with the team captain & I had my own cage in their van. When we got there we had a run around and after the racing started we went in to see how we (me in particular) would react. It was in a smallish barn, dogs barking loudly & a loud speaker feeding into the barn. I...paniced. =( The noises & everything was too much.
Usually I get really excited at flyball. The "readyyyyyyy" sends me mad but today I just wanted to get out. So Mum took me out & that was that. I wasn't going into that scary place again. Mum really didn't expect me to react this way but the place was smaller & therefore louder than she expected & I'm still only a baby. We're going to continue with some training, because Mum is sure I do like it & try to go to some more outdoor competitions in the summer. Lets just hope this hasn't affected me.
Luckily for the team we still had 5 dogs ready & Mum ended up running another members second dog so they both could be run together. Alot of fun & we ended up 1st in division 2. Yeah! Although Mum is slightly diapointed, I didn't help them win or have any fun running.
Anyway, I guess things don't always turn out like you planned.

Thankyou all for your messages and gifts.
I've had a pawsome day. We went for a long walk & played ball, which is ever so fun.
I got a stuffed red toy, six tennis balls (there's only five left now, BOL), some treats and, of course, my lead and collar.
One Year
Mummy can't believe I'm one year old already. Time goes by so fast. We've had an amazing few months with one another and have learn so much together.
Love you all.

Finally I got it. To be fair I could have done it ages ago but because we didn't like the class we didn't go very often.
So it's done! We're not not going to go onto silver as we planned. Perhaps if we find a better club, we start it. =)
But good news is we think we've found a good agility club, which is quite close. We were going to go to the above clubs agility classes but Mummy thought it was best not to bother. And then the second one looked quite good but is really far away. We're happy to have found this one. Thanks to Mummy driving instructor, who she remembered him saying that he went to a park last summer & saw some dogs doing an "obstitcle course." BOL - funny how things happen. The classes start in April - October so it's perfect for us, as beginners. It's also outside - another plus for us.
We're also going to continue with my flyball too. We never planned to do flyball but Mummy likes the team aspect and the people are all really nice. So we're contining with it. If we ever get it competition level with agility and enjoy it, we may have to have a think about which to focus on, since the competitions overlap during the summer. This year we're just going to have fun with both of them.
I've only just started some proper training for flyball and I have my first starters competition next Saturday. We're feeling the nerves. BOL.
Mummy also brought me a new purple collar and lead for my competition and for my Barkday The collar has Mummy's mobile number emborried on it. It looks ace! ;)
I trun 1 whole years old on Monday. Whoa! Where's the time gone.
Hope everypup has a sweet weekend. x

Hi pups.
Here's a long overdue update from the world of Gypsy.
I'll be taking my Bronze CGC test next weekend (wish me luck) and then we'll be saying bye-bye to the class. We did want to do the silver too but Mummy has never really liked the way the class was run for a number of reasons.
Mummy continued going every few weeks in order to try to improve my reactive-ness to other dogs & the current trainer is nice. She has been really happy with my improvements, I will focus on Mum while the other dogs walk around & not take any notice.
We like this quote we found, which says alot for our own opinions on our training. "Dogs don't care who's alpha and who's not. Only emotionally dysfunctional owners and trainers do." -- Jack Field
We are going to start focusing on our fyball & agility now! Since I am better & more focused off lead anyway, we think this is the right path. I have my first starters flyball comp in two weeks. So Mummy brought me a new purple collar with her mobile number emborried on and a matching purple lead. They go nicely with my purple harness too.
8 more days until my 1st Barkday!

Hi everypups. How are you?
I went to flyball today. Since I'm 11 months old, I get to start some proper training.
I'm looking good, I understand you have to get the ball and come back really really quick...for a game of tug off course!
I don't like to leave Mummy when we're there at the moment, so sometimes I'll be running down the lane to get the ball, stop at the last jump and look behind me, as if to say "are you coming then?"
We will be off to our first starters competition on 6th March 2010.

It's been good for us.

I passed my KC puppy foundation certificate. We're hoping to do the Bronze CGC test in January.
I attended a HTM/Canine Freestyle workshop, which was fun.
I started flyball.
I know over 50 commands and counting.
I had my first visit to the beach!
I had my first taste of snow
Plans for 2010;
Pass the Bronze and Silver CGC adwards.
Compete in some starters flyball from March & hopefully go open in September.
Start agility classes in the spring/summer.
Learn some more advanced freesyle moves after I turn a year old.

We've had quite a bit of snow the past few days, as you can see from my photos. It's very fun to play in, catch and try to eat. ;)
It's quite rare for us to have snow in Decmber. Perhaps we'll get snow for Christmas. I hope so.

Hiya pups.
Today I went to my dog classes Christmas party. T'was fun but very long - 4 hours later. BOL.
We had a few games, like a sausage race (yummy), a fancy dress contest (I went as a Little Angel - coz I'm a devil in class, BOL) and musical chairs.
We also had a contest to see who could be sent and lay down the closest to a pole. I did awesome at it, to say I've never done it before. Mummy said "away" and I went to the pole and went down.
Unfortunatly I didn't win anything.
There was also a bit of flyball set up outside. I did about 6 runs and on the last run, I picked the ball off the floor & brought it back to Mummy. Yay. This wasn't my flyball team so I can't wait to show them. ;)
Happy Holidays

Howdee, pups.
After Mummy read up about some agility rulez that may be coming in place next year, she decided to give my obeidience another go.
I'm still in Bronze, which is embarrashing, but I have missed loads of weeks and refuse to leave Mummy's side in class so no staying.
I was quite good today apart from being a little reactive to the other dogs. But I got better towards the end. My reactive-ness to other dogs is something I need to work on or I won't be allowed to do agility.
I did everything good, apart from the minute stay. I think I got 40 seconds. I'll do lovely stays every where else but not in class.
We gotz to play tunnelz at ze end. I lubs de tunnelz. =D
I may be taking the bronze test after Christmas and we're going to start the silver in the summer. I want be taking the gold currently. Maybe in a few years.
No class next week but we're having a Christmas Pawty so I need to sort out by outfit.
