How a pup came to be!

Hello Dogster.

My name is Gypsy or Gyp.

Mummy got me from a farm where I was born 8 weeks before. After travelling one and a half hours, she arrived at a farm, which was surrounded by cows, sheep and dogs.

The farmer owned 11 Border Collies, including my mother and a very beautiful red merle BC - we won't lie, Mummy was hoping she was my mother. BOL. My mother is a very petite Black and White Border Collie (Mummy met her first) who works the sheep on the fields. My father is also a Black and White Border Collie who belongs to a neighbouring farm and also works sheep.

So I am in fact a pure breed Border Collie - a Working Sheeping as the Kennel Club who say, since I have no papers. Although I don't lok like your traditional BC because I'm almost completly white. The only black is on my face and ears. It makes me unique.

My sister, Domino, and myself were the only pups left. We were both keep in a small barn and were very very shy. Apparently the farmer had done nothing to socialise us at that point. Domino was smaller and shyer than me. She was also pridominatly white with black patches on her back.

On the way home we called into Pets At Home, a rare event since our nearest one is so far away, and brought some toys.

Once home I met Jet. She was scared of me at first and hide. When I went near her, she would tell me to bog off. I wanted to play with her but I got scared too. We like each other now and I can't wait until we can go walkies together.

I went to the vets for the first time on Tuesday 28th April where I had my first vaccination. I was very relaxed at the vets and even fell a sleep on the examination table. Mummy said it was a nice change from taking a very vet-phobic Jet to the vets. BOL.

I'm very smart so Mummy says. I've so far learnt sit, down, come here and stay.

When I get older, I'm going to be doing flyball, agility and a bit of Heelwork to Music.

Four more weeks and I'll be able to g outside and attend puppy classes.

Little Bo Peep...

Little Bo-Peep has lost her sheep,
And can't tell where to find them;
Leave them alone, And they'll come home,
Wagging their tails behind them.

Little Bo-peep fell fast asleep,
And dreamt she heard them bleating;
But when she awoke, she found it a joke,
For they were still a-fleeting.

Then up she took her little crook,
Determined for to find them;
She found them indeed, but it made her heart bleed,
For they'd left their tails behind them.

It happened one day, as Bo-peep did stray
Into a meadow hard by,
There she espied their tails side by side,
All hung on a tree to dry.

She heaved a sigh and wiped her eye,
And over the hillocks went rambling,
And tried what she could, as a shepherdess should,
To tack each again to its lambkin.

My new nickname is Little Bo Peep, possibly because people keep saying I look like a sheep. BOL. Also coz it's very cute. =)

I'm Gonna Be a Big Girl!

Just back from the V-E-T's.

My weight at 10 Weeks is around 7.00, which is quite different from at 8 weeks where I weighed only 5.00.

So I think I'm gonna be a big girl when I grow up, perhaps even bigger than Jet!

I quite like the Vets. Lots of people fuss over me & I love the attention. Also I saw a cat - they're strange creatures. They make very bizzare noises.

I'm back at the Vets in two weeks & then I'll be able to go out for walkies. Hooray.

13 Weeks - My New Big Girl Collar

Mummy got me a girl girl collar today. It's pretty & pink, just right for me. BOL.

G'day!

Hello all my pals.

I thought I'd sneak on here while Jet's sleeping & write a diary entry.

Firstly, I've been able to go for walkies for almost a week now. It's great to be out & about. On Sunday, I met some geese. They're strange. oO

I've seen a few dogs, but I'm very nervous of them at the moment. I bark, whine, then hide. Hopefully puppy classes will help me with this. I've met a GSD, a Cocker Spaniel, a Bullmastif (why I thought it was a good idea to bark at him, I don't know), a Beagle, a Terrier & a cute little GSD puppy (who is smaller than me & Mummy thinks looks too young to out & about.) -shug-

Oh yes, puppy classes start on Wednesday at 6 pm. =)

Also, I was attacked by Mummy & Daddy blackbird today after I was trying to play with their baby again (see Jet's diary about him). They flyed down close to my head & so I bolted in. Jet did warn me not to bother the baby. Mummy thought it was funny. Evil Mummy.

In other news, our tinternet is being "repaired" on Wednesday so I may disappear for a bit, knowing our luck -eye roll-

Nana, nana, nana, nana, BATMAN!

We just got back from an awesome walk & so I had to brag. =)

Mummy, Jet & me walked around the block where we passed lots of people & dogs & I didn't growl or bark once.

Firstly we passed some noisy girls - I was a little nervous but I carried on walking with little fuss. One of the girls said to another that I looked like Batman. Eh? Bol. It made Mummy giggle.

So.......

Next we passed two doggies - a Bull Terrier & the little GSD puppy I told you about in my last diary. Again I didn't make a sound.

On the way home we passed a large group of boys would asked Mummy how old we were & if we were the same breed etc. I usually don't like males but I didn't pay any attention to them.

Oh Puppy!

Hey everypup.

Iz reporting back from my very first puppy class.

Because we're new we just had to listen to the trainer talk. Man, she has a boring voice. We did some heelwork, sits, down & stay. I was a good girl & the trainer said I had "potential". Hehe.

As you may know, Im very wary of strange people & dogs so the lesson comprised of many growls & barks. I wouldn't even take a treat from the trainer. Mummy hopes I'll improve eventually, after a few more lessons.

There were 4 others dogs there - two puppys (a Bull terrier & a Ridge-back), a young Labrador & an adult BC mix called Bob. xD The Bc managed to get lose at one stage & try to say hello to me (I was at the other side of the room). I was terrified & growled & barked at him.

Some of the techniques they use are pretty old school but hopefully we'll be able to work around it. They are the only classes in our area.

The trainer also got out a collar & lead for me to use because apparently by pink one is "not what we use". -eye roll- It was a black collar, similar to this one Mummy doesn't like such collars but apparently they are good for training. Well, we ended up paying for it so we're going to see how it goes.

Luckily, Mummy didn't have enough mollah for the lead so we're going to try to fine a more sutuitable, & pretty-ful, lead. This one was black & too long for Mummy to hold properly. The trainer said it was fine, though.
