Likes: Cuddling, being told he's a good boy, playing with the neighbors Beagles, hanging out with mom and dad.
Pet-Peeves: Strange dogs that want to play on sight; he needs a few minutes to get comfortable before he wants to play. He also would really like if people would let him sniff them before petting him.
Favorite Toy: His bully stick, his Octopus "Oscar", his paraplegic elephant, anything he picks up in the yard.
Favorite Food: Texas Taffy is the greatest thing to him. He likes his Canidae and, of course, treats.
Favorite Walk: Anywhere, as long as he's with his mommy and daddy
Best Tricks: Being potty trained after only 5 days. He also knows sit, lay down, stay, heel, and no bite. He also just learned how to wave; it is so cute.
Arrival Story: After we had our 11 year old shepherd/heeler mix put to sleep for hip dysplasia, our house felt so empty and cold. Our hearts were broken and we decided to get a new puppy. Nothing cures a broken heart quite like a new puppy. So we started looking online for puppies at surrounding humane societies and dog pounds. We found Quentin and his four brothers at a humane society that was 3 hours from our house. We drove out there and adopted him. He is so happy and so are we. Dogs Rule!!!

I've Been On Dogster Since:
Well, I finally, at 6 months old, made my first human friend besides mom and dad. I usually don't like people very much and I wish they would just let me sniff them and leave me alone. My new friend is Mikey, a really nice 2 and a half year old boy. He didn't ever act afraid of me and when I barked and play bowed at him he started running around, so I started running around. I didn't knock him over or anything; I was really careful. He's just a little guy; same size as me.
Well, we got to go camping with Mikey's family, so we got to hang out a lot. I even let him pet my belly and give me kisses. Mommy and Daddy were so happy that I was finally being nice to somebody because I'm usually what mommy calls a "jerk" to people. Even though they take me all over to see different things and people and animals, I'm still having a hard time warming up to people. Mommy and Daddy try to tell me that people are nice and give me treats when I'm nice, but I'm still getting there.
Maybe having a new friend will help me to be interested in more people. So far, I think kids might be okay, but I'm not so sure about the giants.
Yesterday my mommy and daddy took me for a walk to the park down the street. I love going down there; it's right on the river and my peeps let me run around on my retractable and splash in the water and run through the tall grass. It's the bestest. I always have the time of my day down there.
Well, this time we're down there having fun when all of a sudden this crazy wind picked up and started blowing leaves and dust around. I thought it was so fun to chase the leaves (good thing I was on my retractable so I could). Then the sky just opened up and starting dumping tons of water on us. It was like taking a bath, and I wasn't sure what to think. I kept trying to shake it off but it just kept coming down. More like sideways with the wind.
Mommy and daddy decided it was time to leave when that happened so they put me on my regular leash for the walk home. Boy was it crazy!! Mommy was laughing her head off and daddy was yelling woohoo and we were walking as fast as we could to get back home, even running a little. All the rain gutters that had been dry before were now running with rivers of water and they were so fun to splash in. I didn't even get scared. Not even when the sky started flashing and making a loud growling noise.
By the time we got home we were soaked to the bone. Mommy and daddy had to change all their clothes because they were so wet. Then we all went outside on the patio and watched the sky flash. My friend Herkamer, the Beagle, came out and we ran around in the yard. We weren't scared.
It stopped dumping water after a little while and we went back inside and mommy made me hold still so she could towel me off. I don't understand why I can't just eat the towel; that seems more fun than getting rubbed with it. Yeah, I'd rather eat the towel on the couch and lick myself dry, but mommy says off when I try to get on the couch when I'm wet. Great doggies!!
