Quick Bio:
-pound dog

Likes:
She likes food, sunshine, naps, walks, barking at the sparrows in our backyard, snuggling and sitting in front of the electric heater.

Pet-Peeves:
She dislikes car rides (because she gets car sick), vet visits, squirrels and dogs or people who walk anywhere near the house.

Favorite Toy:
She likes to chew the eyes off of stuffed animals, then pull the stuffing out through the eye openings.

Favorite Food:
Old Mother Hubbard doggie cookies, Bark Bars, Nature's Animals biscuits, carrots, popcorn; if it is edible, I am loving it!

Favorite Walk:
She is happy just walking around the block; she likes to go anywhere as long as it doesn't include a car ride.

Best Tricks:
She crawls across the floor on her belly. She also likes to play 'dead dog' on the grass when we try to get her into the car.

Arrival Story:
My husband and I finally decided that we were ready to adopt a beagle in July 2002, so we drove to our local animal shelter to see if any beagles were available. We were introduced to this one beagle girl that they named Freckles because of the cute brown spots on her legs. She had just arrived at the shelter and was found as a stray, so they did not know anything about her history. We visited her a few days in a row, and each time when we left the building, I would whistle a few times, and she would be the only dog to go to the outdoor run of her kennel to see who was whistling. She was just so cute and friendly, we knew we had to adopt her. Of course, she had her issues early on, including separation anxiety, but we worked with her and learned to deal with her issues. She will always be our Best First Girl!

Bio:
I do not know how long I was wandering the streets of NJ, but I was finally caught while I was rummaging through some garbage. The Animal Control guy put me in his truck, and I got sick on the way to the shelter. (Yuk!) It was very noisy in that place, but the people treated me well. Luckily, I did not have to wait too long before I found my forever home on 8-1-02!
