Forums Motto: I am going to win the battle with cancer
I found out last night that Koda's tumor cannot be surgically removed. The roots have grown into most of his cheeckbone and his nose so they cannot put him through surgery. They are pretty sure they want to try chemo but the oncologist is meeting with the radiologists on Monday to make sure they don't have a better idea. She let me know how chemo works and that if the tumor does not go down after the first treatment, then it will not work at all. So really as if this point I don't know if he has a month or maybe a year or so. I am hoping the chemo would work and after the six treatments the tumor would shrink greatly and then I could start him on supplements. I know there are many natural alternatives but have also read so far that they should be started after the chemo because some could counter-act the affects of the chemo. The oncologist agreed that anti-oxidants would be one example, that while they are great for fitting cancer, they should not be started until after the chemo. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know. If not please send prayers and good thoughts for Koda, especially on Tuesday because it's his first chemo treatment and the results will dictate whether it will be beneficial to keep trying or not. We need all the prayers we can get!
