Lexi

My other cat sister, Lexi went to be with Daisy Mae at the Rainbow Bridge this morning. She was really sick. The vet told my mom that she had a large mass in her colon, which was probably lymphoma cancer. I know Lexi really was in pain a lot - she cried all the time. Mom will miss her, but she knows she made the right decision. I wasn't very close with Lexi, because she hid from everyone most of the time, but I am glad she is not suffering anymore.

Please say some pup prayers for my human grandma -my mom's mother. She is 87 years old and having problems with her heart. Grandma is in the hospital and mom is really worried about her. Mom is also very tired from going to the hospital every day.

Thanks from all of us fur babies.

We are all very sad today. My cat sister, Daisy Mae went to the Rainbow Bridge this morning. Mom has cried a lot. She and dad buried her in the front yard flower bed and put a real pretty stone over her. Daisy Mae was very special to my mom. She was born in one of mom's closet at a different house they used to live in. They had her for 20 years. It will take some time, but I think mom will be ok. Me and my other fur siblings are here for her and I know she is comforted by that.

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

I hate rain. I know we really need it here in West Texas, but I don't like for everything to be all muddy and cold. I also hate the thunder and lightening that comes with it. I'm glad mom and dad let me and Molly stay inside today. It would have been a really miserable day, otherwise.

Summer Project 2012

Mom and dad have finally finished working in the front yard. I have to say it does look really good. They can now relax and not work so much, which means more play time for me!

Next summer they are going to be busy in the back yard to start making it look all pretty, too. I'll be really glad when they get everything done. Mostly because they will be able to spend more time with me and Molly, but also because we stay in the back yard so much during the summer that it will be nice to have some new and interesting things to look at and sniff. Mom better be careful about any plants she puts back there, though. I am a boy, after all, and you know what that means when I have to do my business. lol

I heard dad say they might put in some grass!! That would be so great. I don't think mom's too keen on the idea - mostly because it's kind of expensive to keep grass looking good. But, I think she's going to give in to dad and agree to put some in. I can hardly wait!

I know there will be some new trees - something called Chitalpa. They are supposed to be real drought and heat resistant. Mom and dad likes that. I also heard them say something about using recycled tires as flower beds. I'm not sure about that one - guess we'll just have to wait until next summer to see what they mean by that.

Any way, I hope you all have a great summer (what's left of it) and a great Labor Day weekend.

Patch.

New Toys!!!

WOW!!! Have I got the best mom in the world, or what? She got me some new squeaky toys and it isn't even Christmas or my birthday!

I can't figure out why she did it, but I am really glad she did. I had pretty much succeeded in the total destruction of "monkey".

"Elephant" was still pretty much in tact, but his squeaker didn't work any more and he was just no longer fun to play with.

"Monkey" didn't have his squeaker, either, but he had lots of long legs and a tail that was really fun to chew off and shake around. I guess mom decided I needed a new one after I finally tore him open and pulled all the stuffing out. But to get 2, is so great!

This time I got a "gator" and a "bunny rabbit. They are so cool. Long legs to chew on both and bunny rabbit has long ears, too!

On top of all that she bought me a big bag of Quack Quacks (that's what we call dried duck and/or chicken tenders). The only down side about that is that I have to share with Molly.

I guess that's ok, though. She doesn't bother my toys, so I guess I can be generous and let her have some of the yummies.

I tell you, I am just one happy pup right now. I'm going to say goodbye so I can go tear up gator. Then it will be bunny rabbit's turn. It won't be long and mom will have to get out her needle and perform surgery. Whooo Hoooo1

Patch.

Busy, busy, busy summer

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been a while since my last entry, but mom and dad have been really busy this summer. First of all, one of my human sisters got married in May and my other human sister is getting married this coming Saturday! Plus, mom and dad have really been working hard in the front yard getting it pretty again after the drought we had. It's really looking good, too.

Other than that, life is pretty much the same for us animals in the house. Molly and I go outside during the day while mom and dad are at work and then we come inside when they get home. Actually we've been going in and out a lot because we hate being inside by ourselves while mom and dad are not in the house. We would much rather be outside barking at the birds, the dogs, etc...

Mom and dad took a trip last month and we were by ourselves for 3 whole days! We were really sad. Mom's friend came over to give us our food and water and play with us, but it just wasn't the same. We sure did miss them and were so glad when they came back home.

Guess that's all for now. I don't know when my next entry will be - like I said - mom and dad are really busy.

Wags and licks,
Patch.

Long time no write

Howdy everyone. Sorry I haven't written anything for a while, but there's been a lot going on for the past several months. First of all, and the most important thing, my human sister - Erin - got married a couple of weeks ago. I didn't get to go, which was not fair, but mom and dad went - of course. I know it was a lot of fun because mom and dad were really happy when they got back.

Also, mom has not been feeling well - her neck and shoulders were hurting her real bad and she didn't feel like typing much. She's also been trying to work on some new blankets for some human friends who live up north. It's been slow going for her because of her neck and shoulders. The good news is that she seems to be a lot better and now can be more active on my diary.

Anyway, the weather has been really great! Not at all like last year. There have been hot days, but cool ones, too. We've also gotten some good rain! YAY!!!

Molly and I got a new sleeping pillow. The one that Molly had when she came to live with us kind of got destroyed in the dryer.

Our new pillow is really huge!!! We can both fit on it, but we still have my old pillow, which is still good. So, we have a lot of sleeping room.

Mom and dad are going on a little trip next week and someone else will be taking care of us for a few days. I will sure miss them them when they are gone. I hope they bring me and Molly back some goodies.

Next month is also going to be busy because my other human sister, Deidra is also getting married. Mom and dad are really excited!

Guess I'll say bye for now.

Wags and Licks,
Patch.

Mom, the toy surgeon

I love my new elephant squeaky toy. I love to chew it and squeak it and chase it. I really love it when mom or dad throws it up in the air and I can catch it!

Mom will tell me to "tear it up" when I'm playing with it, which I take quite seriously. I shake it and shake it! Then I chew it and chew it!

Today I managed to chew through to the stuffing. Wow, was it ever fun to pull it out and spread it out everywhere.

Mom spoiled my fun, though, and put all the stuffing back and performed "surgery", as she puts it.

Now It's good as new for me to "tear it up" all over again. :)

Duck Watching!

Wow, what a fun day I've had today! The only yucky thing was going to the vet to get mine and Molly's annual shots, but the rest of the day was fun, fun fun!

After the vet (ugh), we went to Petsmart and I got a brand new squeaky chew toy. It's an elephant! We also got some more Teenie Greenies. Molly and I really like those.

Then we went to the big park with the lake and got to "duck watch". I really wanted to chase them, but dad had too good of a hold on the leash. (darn)

There were all sorts of new smells, too. Molly and I sniffed and sniffed. It was great!

After the park, mom took us to a drive through. Mom and dad got sodas, but me and Molly got some yummy ice water. Boy, was it sure good because it was really hot today.

By the time we got home it was time for a good rest.

What a great day! :)
