My New Life

Almost back to normal

It's been a few days since Sadie was adopted. Mom really misses her. I don't. I'm so glad to not get barked at and attacked every time I go outside to do my business.

Plus, there's more attention from mom. She says once Gus gets over being afraid and is comfortable with other people, he will be put up for adoption, too.

I hope it happens soon. I really want my mom and dad all to myself again.

I'm sorry if that sounds selfish. I don't mean to be. I am really happy for Sadie and hope that Gus will find a great forever home, too. But they are so big and I'm so little, it gets kind of scary getting run over every day.

Gus is not as bad as Sadie was, though. At least he'll leave me alone when I tell him too. (in doggie language, of course).

We had to get a bath last night. Gus fell into the pond trying to get a drink.

Mom and I don't understand why he wants to drink out of it. Sadie chewed up mom's pump and hasn't she been able to pump the water out. Plus it rained a lot over the summer. It's starting to finally evaporate down real low, but it sure is nasty with algae. YUCK!

Sadie drank it, too. (shudder). Mom puts out nice, clean water for him to drink all the time, but he heads right for the pond scum. What a dummy. Good thing he's on heartworm prevention, or he might get real sick.

It's always nice to get more attention from your Mommy. Glad to hear Sadie found a forever home too.
